The statement that Dumler is serving a 30-day jail sentence is not entirely correct. He was sentenced to 12 months in jail, with 10 months suspended. He must serve the remaining 60 days of his sentence. Virginia law basically gives two-days credit for each day served with good behavior.

Continuing to state that he has a 30-day sentence serves only to minimize his offense. If he were to somehow be caught misbehaving, the court could actually make him serve the rest of his sentence (but still with the 2-for-1 deal).

It won't work. What a sad, sorry misuse of the legal system, and what a sad, sorry bunch of people who are wasting their time trying this. A fool's errand, but I wouldn't expect anything less from those partisans who would love nothing more than to take over the BoS.

I have a feeling you would think differently if someone forcibly sodomized you or your loved one and continued happily on his way, especially in a position of political power. And, remember, he pled guilty.

Forcible sodomy would be rape. He wasn't charged with rape. He would have not been able to plead down a rape charge.

What about the rest of us (85%) who will not sign a petition? Guess it's just like the 1% having power over the 99%. Here it's the 15% over the 85%. You should have to have a simple majority of voters signing a petition for a recall election.

Hope Mr. Smith's hard work pays off and Dumler is removed from the BOS. We already know it's unlikely that Dumler would do the right thing.

Probably some law that doesnt allow this, a waste of time if this lawyer thought he could be forced out he would have resigned already

Ohhhh, that plea bargain makes all the difference. So, let me rephrase it. "You might feel differently if someone forcibly sodomized you or your loved one and plea bargained down the charge."

There; everything is wonderful about this case now. Makes all the difference in the world to the victim, I'm sure. We should be so proud of Chris Dumler.

Umm, it won't work because the LAW (I imagine you haven't bothered to read it) requires that he be "neglect[ful]... in the performance of his duties ..." and that such neglect "materially adversely affect the performance of his duties."

This isn't about what Dumler did or didn't do back in October. It's about the LAW. And the LAW doesn't provide grounds for his removal. The only thing that does is another election.

So you support misusing the legal process?
Which it wont

Glad someone here is smart enough to be able to pull up a virginia statute via the Googles and see that it doesn't apply. If only the rest of the commenters on this site could take off the Democrat-hatred blinders, take a step back from this, and see how dumb this latest move is.

I rather imagine the person bringing the petition, and the people posting here in support of it, do not actually expect that Mr. Dumler will be forced to step down by the court. I am sure they are just doing what they can to apply pressure to Mr. Dumler to resign, and to keep this issue in the public eye. They are just as entitled to air their opinions, in the courts if need be, as are the thousands of people who have protested and been arrested for various liberal causes over the years - and surely you are not saying all of that was a waste of the public's resources as well? It is a bit disingenuous to criticize those calling for Mr. Dumler's dismissal for borrowing from the liberals' playbook, don't you think?

I will never side with what dumbler did , I think he is an egotistical ( soft abuser ). That aside .

He has what it takes to hand these petitioners their *** in court. Based solely on my interpretation of the law.

I may be blind to something , but this mo fo is gonna keep driving the dagger in his victims . He seems Diabolical , He will never cross the line, but he will ride it . He got caught and he is psychological firing back = in the kindest of ways .

He a goddamn SNAKE !

He's evil , I can smell it

T hats just me , maybe I dreamed it .

NURSE, I need my meds I think I had a seizure when I said that :)
