Wow! What a jack***!! The police have AT LEAST 3 felony's on him at this point. Felony drunk driving, Felony drug possesion, and Felony reckless endangerment of a minor. The sad thing is, unless he is a repeat offender x 3 or more felony's, he will probably just get a slap on the wrist... fines/costs,etc, probation, community service, state mandated A/A class, and a suspended DL for a few months. 6 months from now, assuming he pays the drivers responsibility fee, he will probably be back behind the wheel, LEGALLY!! Our system is a joke. We need much stronger laws to PREVENT things like this from happening.

The drunk driver faces several charges, what about the mom of the little girl, why would she let him drive knowing he was intoxicated? I'm with most of you charge them both!

The natural progress of the human race and the civilization that is the result of this process has been to leave the forests and jungles and to eventually leave the rural/agrarian way of life for the urban habitat. It has been this way for thousands of years now. Except for the odd,and most of them are odd, farmer;the only people who still inhabit the rural areas of this great country are the disgruntled, disgraced, and usually deranged wretches who are unable or afraid to live with their fellow man in the great cities of the world. They are sad and sick individuals who not surprisingly consume alcohol to excess, chew tobacco, hoard firearms(to vainly try and overcompensate for a multitude of shortcomings),drive bigfoot trucks, beat their wives and children, and despise everyone who doesn't smell like themselves. One can hardly be surprised then by this report out of Howard City, nor by the semi-literate bleatings of the defenders of this pathological lifestyle.

We have no idea what the circumstances were that made the wife get in the vehicle with her daughter. Maybe he threatened the wife and that's why she was with him in the car. The daughter may have already been in the car and he was gonna drive away w/out the mom. In that case, I'd get in the car myself, wouldn't you?
As to the man's b.a.c.- why doesn't he have alcohol poisoning?

Stop the assault on the mom - nowhere does it say she knew he had anything to drink. Maybe she thought he had 1 drink and had no idea it was more. Maybe he drinks regularly, in which case he'd be more "normal" with alcohol in his system than without! My point is ... stop condemning people when you don't know the situation, please.
I have no idea what was up with the mom and so have nothing to say about her.
I am regularly amazed at the people here in GR that think they are perfect, above everyone else, know everything, and have the right to sit in judgement of others. Just wait until the real judgement day!!
4 times the legal limit with marijuana in the vehicle? Idiots like you who condone unacceptable behavior and lend crutches to dirtbags and criminals make me sick.

You go ahead and wait until judgement day and keep right on making excuses for drunk drivers or any other bottom feeders out there. I'm sure they just all had "bad childhoods."

You must think your big words make you sound intelligent! However you are overcompensating your small mindedness & you just come off sounding stupid. Most people who live in small communities do so because they don't have to put up with the smell of exhausts, gangs shooting up the city, houses so close together that the sun can hardly get thru, heavy traffic (just to name a few reasons). Many are brought up on farms that produce the food you eat & (thank God) stay on to continue the WORK many people would not do. To lump small town & rural people together with your idiotic comments, shows your lack of intelligence.
Back to topic; Until you know the whole story, you should keep your disgusting comments to yourself. Were you there? NO?? Jesus loves even foolish people!

Don't be amazed, be astounded!! It makes me sick to read the posts on most of these forums. There are so many judgmental people who make themselves look like idiots in the end. I couldn't agree with you more!!! Be blessed!

Exactly,(& that is a good question about the b.a.c.) Yes I would for my baby's sake. God bless.

To answer your question about his ability to sit up... a few years ago I sat in and observed the courts for a law class I was taking, and the judge lined up about a dozen drunk drivers for arraignment ( of course they all plead not guilty) then he single out a woman when he read her b.a.c. and asked her why with a b.a.c. of .40 she was driving. He response was classic... "I couldn't walk" He informed her that that level would make her legally dead! She sheepishly stood there and just said .."I'm sorry" and went on to plead not guilty with the rest. Half an hour later on my way home, while waiting in traffic, I noticed a large group entering a nearby tavern.... everyone of them had just been in court before the judge who had suspended their licenses for dui... and they made it there ahead of me (I had a license to drive) go figure!
These people were all from the city... not one farmer among them!

I live in the Howard City area. Why???? Because I can go to the bank and not worry about some loser moron from a gang driving by and blowing my head off. I can wash my vehicle at the local car wash at 3am (if I choose) and not worry about getting robbed.
There is crime everywhere, but I feel a heck of a lot safer living in the Howard City area.
Listen to the Kent County police scanner for just one night. Grand Rapids is turning into a jungle.

Hmmm... this may have been tongue in cheek but you should probably be careful, buddy. Judge not before being judged...

Please read what I responded to again. I wasn't insulting the people of our state. I live in this state & I live by you. If you have read my earlier posts, I have tried to spread Love. I guess I'm realizing that the hate spewers are getting to me as they do wear down positive attitudes. My heart hurts when I see the ugliness around us. So many negative comments that attack people not problems get ya down. Sorry that you misunderstood what I wrote. God bless.
