The fire on m-82 in Howard City. The one thats buring Northern Trails to the ground is in Croton Township, not Croton Heights. Never heard it called that. Thanks.

What a shame, I worked there when it first opened as Crawdaddy's at age 18 and have enjoyed many dinners there as Northern Trails since, my prayers to the owners, I hope they rebuild....

Could this be the work of an arsonist? Think about all of the restaurants that are burning lately. Just a thought...

Insurance scam.....
You suck! I know the owner and he didn't need no insurance money. This guy gave to the community all the time, tons of donations to the schools and he has held several benefits to help out several families in need. You need to find a rope and hang yourself. You could learn something from the owner of the restaurant.

We were very upset to see the fire that
took Northen Trails this morning. We have
been going there since it was rebuilt and
have enjoyed eating there and being at
a "home town" Restaurant. Hopefully they will be able to rebuild and people can
again, enjoy eating there. Again, we are so sorry.

This is so not an insurance scam...this place was great. The owner treated all his employees and customers just like family. Very sad situation...very sad! many memories lost.

I'm from the area. I don't know the whole story but this is the RUMOR mill. There is...make that... was, a restaurant down the road years ago called Tiff's. Tiff's and Crawdaddy's were owned by sisters.
Tiff's burned down a long time ago and it's rumored that other sister started it. Not sure if they're even still alive but it would be interesting to know the complete story (even MORE interesting to know the truth).

This was a wonderful place! Great food, hometown hospitality, great atmosphere, and decent prices. I'm so glad they are going to rebuild. The guy that bought this used to own the Shamrock, and I believe he still owns the Half Moon Bar & Grille. He had just added a small addition to the place, and the deck. They were most always busy, and once you've been there, you would see why. The man knows how to run a good business.

This was a fabulous place! So sad to see it gone. Hope to see a speedy rebuild....I'll be anxiously awaiting!
