As the original name of the city was Tsaritsin ,from 1598 until 1925, only an idiot and worshipper of the mass-murderer of Russians Joseph Stalin like Dwarf Fuhrer Putin would choose Stalingrad!

Can the revived GULAG of concentration camps be far behind??

Solzhenitsyn weeps, for the Russian people have learned nothing at all.......

What an idiotic post.

"Responding to a veteran's suggestion to restore the name of Stalingrad, Putin said it could be decided by a public vote."

In other words, he's saying 'don't bother me with such questions' without offending the man, who was a WWII vet.

Your attempts at distortion are childish, at best. At worst, totally psychotic.

First it will be Stalingrad, then Leningrad and his revival of the Soviet empire will be complete when he renames Moscow "Putingrad".:-)

I wonder which other MASS-MURDERERS of the Russian people Dwarf Fuhrer Putin wants to GLORIFY?

Hitler?

He murdered ALMOST as many Russians as Stalin did, after all!

An obvious HERO to Putin!

And that would be a good thing if the sites of Soviet victories are honoured for ever!!

Stalingrad and Leningrad were heroic towns resisting the Nazi invaders.

"At the height of its fortunes, the LDPR gathered 23% of the vote in the 1993 Duma elections and achieved a broad representation throughout the country – the LDPR being the top vote-getter in 64 out of 87 regions."

It's not about heroes, you cretin, but about historical persons who shaped a country's future, that you like it or not.

Look at the statues of all the former leaders in all countries of the world, and tell me if they were all angels.

Erasing Lenin and Stalin/s names serves no purpose.

There are statues of Peter the Great in Russia and of Ivan Grozny (the Terrible as the Brits call him), and they certainly killed a lot of Russians in their time too.

St Petersburg alone caused the death of hundred of thousands of serfs when it was built in marches under orders from Peter. Peter the Great had his own son tortured to death under his eyes, etc...

Ivan Grozny was a sadistic ruler who also killed his son, apart from causing many lives in Russia.

There are no statues of Hitler in Germany or Mussolini in Italy.

That was decided by those countries, but why should outsiders impose their views on Russia ?

Many people in Russia are not against statues of Lenin and Stalin.

When did I ever denied them?

I only contest some inflated figures and explain the context in which they occured.

I also remind you that the West committed atrocities too; something many find uncomfortable to hear.
