Northampton School District wants to know if is fair that the gov(fast eddie) and our illustrious legislature makes the local school districts foot the bill to explain the mess they called a property tax FIX. Well, it may not be fair but you don't think that any money will be taken from brewbars or hockey rinks or patios for art museums or baseball parks, or even worse all the money that they hand out as WAMs(these should be illegal)? BOUNCE ALL THESE BA$T*&^$ out this election and next election and the next election. Do it until they get the word.

I feel that the following excerpt, from the news article, is one of the main reasons that OUR country is in the deplorable state that now exists.
"Skrapits and other school directors also believe legislators used Act 1 to avoid making tough decisions about tax reform, leaving that job instead to school boards and voters.''I just think the legislators wanted us to do their dirty work,'' Skrapits said."
Everybody wants someone else to make theiir decisions for them. PEOPLE, REMEMBER WE ARE A GOVERNMENT BY THE PEOPLE, OF THE PEOPLE. not a government by our elected officials. Stand up and make your own decisions.

''They passed this Act 1 and expect us to foot the bill? Does that sound fair?'' said Director Geraldine Skrapits
Is this not what the schools do every year when they need more money? They raise Taxes and expect us to foot the bill!

Frankly, I'm tired of high taxes - and the taxes are high whether you have a half-million dollar home or a row home. Schools need to get their spending under control and stop milking the taxpayers. I'd like to see all the "breaks" we're supposedly going to get from the casino invading our area - complete with it's organized crime and the trash it will attract.

BEING A TAX AND SPEND LIBERAL IS EASY.

TO BE A FISCAL CONSRVATIVE MEANS ONE CAN READ A BALANCE SHEET AND ELIMINATE WASTEFUL SPENDING. TO DO MORE WITH LESS REQUIRES STENGTH OF CHARACTER.

ANYBODY CAN SPEND TO THE HILT, LET'S SEE THE PUBLIC OFFICIALS FIND WAYS TO CUT SPENDING...AND...TAXES!

The problem with homeschooling, at least that I see, is that even if I did homeschool my kids, I still have to pay the high school taxes, so it doesn't help me. I would move heaven and earth if I thought it would save me the money. The one thing I do see, and I honestly doubt the district will ever see the money, is the families who abuse the school districts by not sending them to their district, but putting someone elses address on the paperwork so it looks like they live in the district. Salisbury township stopped I think it was 10 families from doing that this past school year, I don't have the paper in front of me, but I thought the article stated that the district was going to bill the families each $10,000 for abusing the system and not sending them to their proper district, and it wasn't like a miscomunication on the families end, they knew what they were doing, they didn't want their kids in the Allentown school district most likely, I kinda feel for em, but hey, I choose to live where I do because of the schools. You can do the same.

This 'news' is not surprising at all, it is what we've learned to accept as the norm.

We've needed another taxpayer revolution for a while, we need to get our citizens off their self-centered duffs and involved in their local politics. Part of the problem today is people don't realize is things can change.

Yes - we are a goverment "for the people by the people" - and the people are more interested in movie stars, sports stars, or about anything else to see what is going on around them in their own communities in my opinion.

The "tea tax" that was a catylist to the Boston Tea Party is just one example of the problems they were having at that time. Samuel Adams, Paul Revere and others who were involved would now be labled terrorists. At the time they were admired for fighting for what was right. Imagine how we'd view the leaders who signed the Declaration of Independence in todays world. That was what was needed to revolutionize their world, our world is much different. Voting, education and involvment in our communities can change things if we are willing to work for it.

Another well caculated plan comes to fruition.I remember like it was yesterday, every incumbent running for office , thumping their chest and taking credit for Tax reform and tax relief. If my math is right we're spending more and the relief is yet to come. When is the next election?

I got what you meant, I'm just saying I think those that do homeschool, shouldn't have to pay school taxes, then maybe more people would, and we wouldn't need this "crap" that is now our school system.
