Kudos to the sober and proper comments by Senators Jeff Bingaman and Tom Udall. "A measure of closure..." is certainly the appropriate terminology.
To the gov: "It is appropriate for us to celebrate this moment..." Come on, it is entirely inappropriate for an elected official to "celebrate" in the death of a human being. Tacky, low brow, and (at the risk of being redundant) inappropriate.

You can celebrate the moment and still know that the loss of human life is not something to be proud of.
You can be thrilled and joyous to know that the number one terror threat to our Country is no longer a threat. It is an honor to celebrate with our military as they have brought this part of the fight to an end.
You can do all of this and still know that the loss of life any life is sad. I will never mourn the death of this nasty man who only wanted hatred for our country but it is sad to know that this man will NEVER have the opportunity to repent of his actions and he now stands and the feet of our Maker and Judge and sure enough there there will not be a bunch of virgins waiting for him, but the fires of hell waiting for Him as he has chosen to reject the Savior.
Now time to celebrate that this step of the war/battle has come to an end and be on your toes for the next people who intend to step in and cause us more pain and grief.
