The resoundingly one-sided votes in both the State senate and house emphatically exhibits what is priority and what is of lesser importance to our legislators. They, like dirty diapers should be changed more frequently and for the very same reason. Still, the squashblossom necklace is as iconic as the other symbols of New Mexico, and rightfully takes a place alonside the Zia sun, the roadrunner, the yucca blossom and the others that have been legislatively adopted.

Great they didn't argue over some 'official' symbol. I hope they are as successful selecting paint for the ceiling. There is real work to be done but keep on knocking out those feel-good deals.
