Richardson tied hands of legislators

Over the course of the recent special session called by Gov. Bill Richardson to address the $650 million budget shortfall, legislators took time away from their homes, jobs and families to perform a task I doubt any of them were excited about.

There are a lot of us who are upset with Governor Richardson for calling an expensive special session and then tying the hands of the legislators so that they could not do their job effectively. Senator Ortiz y Pino was blunt about it--he called the special session a disaster.

Did think for one minute Richardson was gonna do the right thing?

Enough with this 60 day - 30 day crap on alternating years. Set a 90 day session annually and these special sessions wouldn't be necessary.
