Susana Martinez is on the right track. She has her work cut out for her. Corruption and crooked politics is as well entrenched in New Mexico as it is in El Paso. She needs a Republican Senate. The crooks could not survive without ineligible voters stuffing the ballot boxes. Maybe someday all the judges in Roswell can speak more than a dozen words of English.

Let us digest this clearly. You can't issue a drivers license that might state you are not a citizen, but the same geniuses will let anyone vote without an ID. Wow.

The New Mexico Democrates need at least 50% of the grave yards in New Mexico to vote for them to them in office.

Good reason for no voter ID (to them).

So NM gives anyone a DL and cannot ask questions as to whether they are legally here, yet now say people shouldn't have to show their DL? Seems like the Dems have it BOTH ways. Stop giving them their cake and letting them eat it too! I am sick of all the NM license plates here in El Paso. Seems also like those hiding here can also vote here and in NM. Corruption is rapant here and in NM.

Why does that party keep fighting against

Doing the right thing.

Showing proof of I.D. makes perfect sense

We are living in the Modern Cell Phone age Now

This is 2011 Not 1962.

Everyone and their Grandmother Has an I.D.

You have to show identification to checkout a Book

Why does the democratic party fight so Hard for

People who are Not even from this Country.

I wished they would do the same for Me and My family

Who are from this Country.

Can't wait to Vote Them Out.

God Bless

Let's see ... do you need ID to open a bank account?

Do you need an ID to rent a DVD?

Do you need an ID to get cell service?

Do you need an ID to get welfare and EBT?

So voting is the only thing in NM that you do not have to show an ID?

Fascinating.

I have a constitutional right to vote

I don't have a constitutional right to rent a DVD

I don't have a constitutional right to get cell service

I don't have a constitutional right to get welfare and EBT

I don't have a constitutional right to do most things that require ID

You have Constitutional right to freedom of movement, try flying on an airplane, driving anywhere or walking around the streets at night without a required state picture id.

Airlines are not obligated by the constitution to serve you; that's why they can require a search and ID in exchange for providing you a service. Driving is a privilege that the state can grant you if you comply with certain requirements including possessing and carrying a driver's license; you are not guaranteed the right to drive by the constitution.

You are not required to have any ID while walking around at night or any other time on public streets; if you get arrested for not having an ID while walking in public (or in private for that matter) it is probably a constitutional violation of your rights.

So many people erroneously cite the constitution and few people have read it or understand it.

It aint just the grave yards. Look at all of the "missing" and tampered ballot boxes and voting machines in the 2000 Presidential election, when the polls gave Bush a good margin of error to win, but Gore won by a slim margin.

Your recital has been repeated by totalitarian minded idiots many times. It is not a privilege to exercise freedom of movement when walking, bicycling or driving or climbing a mountain when it is on "government" (aka "we the people") owned land. Oh, by the way, yes they do and can detain and/or arrest you for not producing a government produced picture ID in most states. Do a little research.

Sorry, no. There is no state with a lawful statute requiring a citizen to carry govt. photo ID in public places.

You must have a driver's license for driving but not for walking on a thoroughfare.

You are probably confusing laws that require a lawfully detained citizen from identifying him- or herself. But no officer anywhere in the US can come up to you for no reason and demand ID--lawfully.
