Liberals use race to advance themselves politically? Is it all of them? Which ones?

If my history is correct, Kennedy hurt himself by supporting the civil rights amendment, and would have likely lost the '64 election. Lyndon Johnson had achieved the office of the presidency and had nothing to gain politically by pushing through the civil rights act. What the liberal democrats lost was the conservative democrat south, which the Republican party then seized. Somehow in the process, the Republicans got taken over by the southern conservatives as far as ideology.

Today, the liberals still have nothing to gain by supporting the plight of poor minorities...because Republicans, using their control of the AM radio and 24 hour entertainment news, attack them for being sissy, bleading heart Neville Chamberlains that give in lazy minotiries and steal our tax dollars. And don't forget, if a black person makes it to a state school...oh no, that takes away the seat from a white person! On one hand, the poor minority has no fundamental right to affirmative action, but the white kid whose parents are rich alumni can get in with lower scores. Oh no, we just can't question that.

Now we have nearly an entire party of Republicans that promote uncle toms of each race, such as Clarence Thomas, Alberto Gonzalez, and Bobby Jindal, even though there are well qualified, intelligent, and skilled professionals with integrity that come from all races.

Whose using the plight of minorities for political gain? Who established Martin Luther King jr day? Reagan. Who appointed Clarence Thomas? Bush Sr. Who promoted the anti-latino Alberto Gonzalez? Bush jr.

Kennedy blew it by letting the mob help him win the 1960 elections and then letting Bobby go after the mob.

The republicans have appointed many minorities to high level positions, but the democrats get furious when minorities getting high level positions are not in lockstep with the liberal causes that in reality keep lots of minorities dependent on the liberal wing of the government.

Blacks in the US are swamped in a society that shows contempt for their own presence.

I don't see hypocrisy when NAACP says to vote against this outted racist and vote Republican.

At one time the Republican party was the party for blacks after Lincoln freed the slaves. Later Democrats took up the civil rights causes, the Kennedy's, etc. After the civil rights law was passed, the rabid racist democrats like Strom Thurmon left the democratic party to become republican. After the republican party does something to help blacks, the racists will run back to the democratic party in revolt. Then blacks will again vote republican.

Too bad Lincoln did not allow the south to sucede. We'd have two Mexico's.

There is always a negative comment about Black women somewhere. I guess I shouldn't be surprised.
And really I am not.

What a thread full of ignorant people. This woman is not crying "racism" or anything else. She was directly disrespected by someone whom she helped. It just so happens that Dartez chose to use a racist slander to offend this WOMAN. If she would have called her any other derogatory name, the same outcome would have occurred. Dartez would have been outted as an ungrateful politician and the same black people that voted her in would have voted her out. Just as what actually happened. How about asking Dartez what was going through her mind to end a conversation with an ally in such a disrespectful way? Obviously she was never fit to hold office and the truth eventually comes to the light.

You show a little bigotry yourself here.

But, you are right and it is not clear what exactly happened here.

They should get Dartez on a television show like 60 minutes and ask her what was going through her mind. Was she foolishly thinking that buckwheat might connote some kind of affection? Was she mad with the lady helping her by getting her voters to the polls?

It would get good ratings if CBS could get Imus and Bernard McGerk on the same hour.

Next to sex, racism sells better than almost anything on television.

A proud woman would accept it from no one.
Lesson for all.....vote for who ever has your best interests. Screw the party lines...get the right people in office because most dogs have teeth. Get one that's happy to see you all the time.

Wow... the more things change..

Its mind-blowing the ideas and beliefs of some on the web. I will set the facts straignt.

FACT: Your government, in BOTH parties really dont care about you regardless of color.

FACT: They need your vote so they cater to you.

FACT: Republicans hate people of color more than democrats

FACT: Democrats like people of color, yet do not respect us. They feel they have the best intentions for us, yet they are KILLING us with their "KINDNESS". They prefer to take care of us, instead of us taking care of ourselves. even when we tell them to STOP.. they find new ways to love us to death!

FACT: A Majority of People of color work for a living, love america, work hard and strive to achieve in a society that is not for them, geared against us, change the rules on the fly and otherwise built by us, but not for us.

My grandfather, god rest his soul, told me and my sibling, in a baseball metaphor, "...you have to live your life like you are the visiting team in a hostile home stadium.. where everything and everyone is against you and want you to loose, you must play, and fight to win with all things lined up against you."

and thats how i live my life in america, and most of the time i win!:)

I won't say that African American men insult AA women more.

The last few groups of comments I have heard about us (the Nappy Headed Ho's thing and the N word at someone's girlfriend) have come from White men.

As I have said millions of times, just because someone says something about themselves doesn't mean that an OUTSIDER should say them.

And the Black men who insult Black women have self hate issues. They use terms and thinking processes that came from racists.

I was born and raised in Chicago and recently moved to Charleston SC. Trust me when I say racism is alive in the south but no one openly talks about it. Not like in Chicago. I was shocked to learn that it wouldn't be a good idea to send my freshmen to public school. She would have been the 1% non-black to attend public school down here. The white kids go to private school. And I live in a very Cosmopolitan city for the south.

If you just want to make senseless insults to strangers, then you would be wiser to just go stand in front of a mirror and insult yourself.
Hollywood is the root cause of most of what ails the world. Hollywood is hell.
The seeds are planted in cartoons, the garden is watered with children's movies and programming, and the harvest is completed with music, videos, movies, etc.
Get the facts.
Get serious.
Go have your own IQ checked if IQs are important to you before you accuse someone else of having a low IQ.
Sure it is.

I'm always serious.

You on the other hand, seem to have a narrow point of view.

Like it or not, what Hollywood has produced since the silent movie days, was a microcosm of real life. Nothing more and nothing less.

I can show newspaper ads from the turn of the century that would make your skin crawl.

For example, there was an ad for a popular stomach remedy called "Ginger Tonic". It had a picture of boy with a big azz grin eating a piece of watermelon.

Need I say more?

So before you blame Hollywood for society's ills, do some research.

Get the facts and get serious.
