Everything I've seen on the internet makes hsv very desireable. I'm wondering how bad the summers are with heat and humidity. Is it tolerable? The golf sounds wonderful and at price that's affordable. aRE THE COURSES AS GREAT AS A LOOK? How are the winters? Can anyone answer my questions? I WOULD APPRECIATE ANY ADVICE AND HELP ANYONE CAN GIVE.
The golf courses are beautiful as are the lakes. I came here in January and have been renting while trying to find the perfect retirement home that my wife likes. There are a lot of vinyl ranch style homes here, of which my wife is not a fan. But prices have been coming down with the huge inventory of homes here now so I think we will be buying very soon. Plus it appears interest rates are trending downward now. I think the village has been finally affected by people trying to retire here from other states not being able to sell their homes.
As to the summers, they are hot but being from the south for me they are no worse than any other southern state. Although the last 2 weeks or so we had triple digit ambient temperatures. It was pretty brutal. But that has past now and things are cooling off a little. This past winter we got snow twice, maybe an inch or so each time. Very pretty and nothing like I am sure you have there in Chicago.
Trees, deer, squirrels, etc. everywhere. I love it here. I started researching this place some 3 years ago before I retired. I knew I wanted to live here. I don't know how old you are. I am in my upper 40s and am a youngster here. I think the average age of an HSV resident in 67 years of age. So lots of older folks, not a lot of kids, low crime rate, etc. Walmart and other stores outside the front gate. So I think you will like it. Any other questions please let me know. Also you will find many folks here from Chicago and the surrounding area. I have personally met many people who moved here from Chicago.
