Why are police given a paid vacation every time thry shoot someone? It seems to me in a democracy the shooter should be made to live without his weapon till he is cleared of wreckless use of firearms (a felony for a citizen)or criminal aggression (citizens should be protected from a policeman like that).

The criminal was the dope dealing pot head...not the cop.
Id rather have a 100 cops pointing guns at me than share the road with just one of you pot heads.

Stay in school, its safer of the rest of us.

Hopefully the victim will receive a million dollar check from the inevitable lawsuit and the cop gets fired.

Yeah, right.
Keep blaming the victim. It's also illegal to shoot unarmed non-threatening people. It's the actions of the cop who are going to cost the taxpayers millions to litigate and pay off the lawsuit... a lawsuit the victim deserves to win.

I'll bet he won't get a dime from a lawsuit..maybe a dime bag from his friend..but a suit will NEVER get filed..so don't worry about your tax dollars..and I supose that you don't want your tax dollars to go towards saving a 100 State Troopers jobs either. I hope some day you need a officer for something..and because of budget cuts that you support..your brians are scattered about a parking lot..by a dope head robbing you for $20.00 with a stolen handgun..

It's not just the cop who should be fired. It's whoever dreamed up this massive raid over some pot. The undercover had already purchased from the apartment at an earlier time. So why not just knock on the door, ask for more, and slap on the cuffs? Cheaper, safer, and no problems. But then the raid wouldn't have made the front page. Instead, we have an ongoing story line, and a massive lawsuit waiting to happen.

The victim will likely get probation if convicted and will still win a bundle in the lawsuit.
It's only a matter of time before he cashes the check from this.

The only thing he's a victim of is his own stupidity. You wanna deal dope...the possibility of being raided and shot in the process is an occupational hazard. Don't want to take that kind of risk? Don't deal dope. Seems pretty straightforward to me.
Then again...MJ isn't exactly know for its brain-boosting powers.

Exactly, it was FUBAR from the get go. WEMET does nt work that way because they like to show off their toys and scare the poop out of people. This is law enforcement storm trooper style.

Sheesh, even my 70 year old parents don't call marijuana "Dope" anymore... By your logic getting pulled over for 10 mph over the speed limit would justify "risking" getting shot. Where do you want to draw that line?

so your grandparents have given in to the "new" logic. Well, until the law is changed..its the law and its illegal. Comparing a 10 over speeding ticket is not a logical defense. Going 10 over with a baggie on the seat WILL get you arrested and if you resist and get physical..maybe shot..peppered for sure.

The entry team had reason to believe that there were weapons in the apartment..based on a visual made from a previous undercover buy..thats all I can say about that.....

Justice will only occur when both the dealer AND the cop are held accountable for their actions.
