If it was not legal I do not believe that the ABC would have granted them their liquor license. There are certain protocol and monitoring that is done by ABC to every establishment that are granted license.

You know what June.... You really make me laugh, You are just mad because i fired your son. and ya know what me and Gilbert were friends. And i guess you didn't know that. HuH??? And as far as an High school Diploma goes. Honey you don't know anything about me or my manager skills. And as far as my reputaion goes, You don't even know me at all. So here's a quarter Call someone who cares!!!!!!!!!! And By the way, My life is great and complete!!!!
Paula, seriously? My son quit that night because
he was being harrassed while he was trying to work by an openly gay co-worker that wouldn't stop lurking behind him trying to make eye contact with him. He told the guy to leave him alone, he felt very uncomfortable, and you did nothing about the situation. You told him in front of the entire call center basically that he was in the wrong (FYI, educated managers pull an employee away from a group and speak to them privatly). He told you he quit and left the building. A little time later you went into the parking lot and was begging him to come back the next day. He thought about it overnight and decided not to go back since nothing about the situation would change. He didn't think he needed to call because he already quit the night before. I imagine that it is easier for you to tell Paul/Tom that he was a no call, no show rather than telling them why he quit.... BTW, your 3rd sentance should read "Gilbert and I" It's so sad how people don't take the time and think about what they write so they don;t sound so ignorant. Now, I will just say this, the property is beautiful, golf couse is pristine, hotel rooms are getting better after many years of neglect and the community appreciates the out of town visitors. The management are crooks and the telemarketing is a scam. 3rd time, about the truck you can supposedly win? How many have? How many are guaranteed to be given away?

I wonder if a person is brave enough to accuse another person of serious and possibly costly actions in the work place even though there is no cause or proof for those accusations other than circumstantial evidence? Would this same person be allowing this unfounded information to be heard by others who have no reason to have any knowlege of the alleged wrong doing, knowing that rumors run rampant? Would this same person be upset to know that this alleged guilty person is now being thought of as dishonest without any proof?
Would this same brave person be capable of acknowledging his or her mistake in wrongfully accusing a person if and when it was shown that the accusations were indeed unfounded? Would this so brave person be capable of apologizing to the wronged person? I seriously doubt it! Would the gossips who took this private information and spread it as actual fact be able to apologize to the wrongfully accused person? Of course not!
Shame on those who spread any gossip let alone unfounded tripe! Shame on those who listen to this garbage and accept is as gospel fact!
Shame on anyone gutless enough to not try to find out the facts before they too spread it on!

I think you all are pathetic! You have no life so you decide that you will bash other people. I am extremely proud that there is improvements in the community. Seems like to me you just can not please anyone no matter how hard you true. Someone always has to put their two cents worth into everything. All of you have no idea what you are doing in these threads.......Advertisement!!! ! I am sure there are some people who are coming just to see what all of you are talking about. I feel sorry for you that you have nothing else better to do. Why not try to be a little less judgemental and see what happens there before you go off the deep end by making yourselves look like pure idiots! I have heard rumors, who hasn't? It is a small town and people talk. Instead of joining the band wagon why not check the place out yourself and see what the deal is? I am just because you all have run it and its employees in the ground. Thank you for doing that so I now have a reason to drop by. Maybe I will see if I can become a member of whatever everyone is raising so much of a ruckus about. Maybe I will just go in there and ask to see this Paul and Tom....Just might even like them, never can tell but, I refuse to allow narrow minded, vengeful, disgruntal employees and members of the community make me judge someone from hear-say, lies, and just plan out right meanness. If any of you get sued for slander it will be your own fault. If I were these people I would definately be copying everything that was written on here and seeking legal action. Always remember, you can not believe none of what you hear and only half of what you see!

Nope that can't just be it, cause I worked in Vegas and by law you had to cut them off too, if they appeared drunk, even in the stores that sold booze. There has to be more to this law than I am not understanding, I guess I need to go to the liq. board and just ask them, get a copy of the laws or stats, and figure this out.
I am not out to cause a stink, but really no one seems to be able to explain this to me where it makes any sense at all.
The law is the law is the law, is this truely legal? That is all I want to know, and why is it this way in a dry county? Is this some loophole that makes this legal? Why would the law be set up this way?
And if you are a drinker, why would you move into a dry county and start bars aka private clubs, don't you believe the people voted this a dry county for a reason.
<quoted text>
The truth of the matter is...(i have done what you want to do and read the law) It is legal. Yes the law is the law and it should be. The problem is not with these establishments, it is with the law. I agree a dry county should be dry. But, as you say the law is the law is the law.

I am starting to think Horseshoe Bend is not a place for me.

The law states.... you do NOT have to BUY a membership. Place that sell them do so because they choose to. I have talked to the abc board about it.

I've been to this place. Complete and utter scam. The key I got was FAKE. The prizes I got,(which a friend of mine has also been there) are always those cheap watches worth "150$" and some stupid vacation that you STILL have to pay for. NO ONE is going to win that truck. Its essentially a presentation to buy some membership to a resort that makes all of these crazy promises. The pool is NOT open. The whole place has a dilapitated feel. The excercise room and golf course are all that is open to anyone for free. You have to pay to go to the public pool, or the bowling alley...All this place is trying to do is rob you of every dollar you own. When I talked to the ladies on the phone, they make it sound like there is no pressure in the whole situation, but it is quite pressured. Also, my saleslady was on SOMETHING. She was either drunk or high or both. And from what I understood from the locals, that happens quite a lot. I didn't buy, and I wouldn't if they gave it to me. From what I gathered, all of the upper management and regular management are just manipulating the strings of those people on the phone, and when they get you there, they don't care about your stay. I drove all the way from Memphis, and it was nothing but a three hour drive for crummy prizes that are worth nothing. Also, there was a pile of keys next to this device that I was supposed to "unlock for the truck" EVERY SINGLE KEY IS THE SAME. ALL of them. If you get this call guys, DON'T go.

This just goes to show that "if something seems too good to be true.." be very cautious!!! Someone will have to EVENTUALLY win the truck, but there is no promise as to when this will happen. Presume that this will only happen when they have sold most of what they are trying to get people to buy into. It would certainly not benefit them to have someone win the truck in the beginning or middle of the Promotion! Otherwise what would they use to entice people to come and listen to their pitch??

I'm not a particular fan of Cedar Glade, but I do enjoy the community of Horseshoe Bend and the vast majority of the people are the kind that would absolutely go that extra mile for a friend or even the friend of a friend.

Coast to Coast Resorts, the national parent company that these vacation package memberships are being sold for, has to give the truck away eventually. That's not a scam, and the legality of such a promotion has to be handled in a specific way. The real key will be sent out, if it hasn't already been, to an individual at random when the corporate level advertising honchos deem it time. That promotion is in place to get people to come in, and that gives the sales staff (some of whom are more adept and generally honest than others) the chance to offer the vacation packages to the customers. These memberships are not just to Cedar Glade, but to a very wide network of resorts and hotels and other travel/vacation options all over the country. And the honest truth is, if a person or family does do a lot of vacationing and travelling then these memberships are VERY handy and financially sound investments.

There have been a lot of changes in personnel, and Cedar Glade is a work in progress. But Coast to Coast is far from a scam and anyone wanting to come in and take the tour should absolutely do so, just don't get caught up in the experience only being about Cedar Glade, but the entire network of resorts that these memberships give you access to. The bar upstairs is a bit of a joke, but at least it's SOMETHING for people to do and have some fun and any locals can tell you that is something there's a very short supply of in the area.

This post was a lot longer than I wanted to make it, but these people who have come in and bought Cedar Glade are doing a lot in helping the community. I'm not a member, I don't work there and never have and unless they need an information security analyst I doubt I ever will. I know a lot of people who do work there now and also in the past. Some left on good terms, others on not so good terms. You have that in any job though, and especially sales and marketing. Give them the benefit of the doubt.
