Yes you are right! It's buying a time share and they do want to con you out of your money! They will be shut down soon the calling centers "management" are just as pathetic the boss is married and trying to hook up with all the younger employees!! They all are scammers who have been in the business for years stealing everyone's money that's how they've made their living! I wouldn't step foot back in that building besides to enjoy some pizza at papa dicks!

Believe it. I used to work there too. The only ones left are felons. Anyone that was honest and worked under the old ownership are gone, except for 2 people and I hope their time is limited. I'd hate to see them get caught up in this. Although they are adults and saw what happened to us. They pay their employees crap, accuse them of stealing (I guess they think everyone lives their lives like them)go through other peoples money like water and take sex in the workplace to a whole new level. I would not give them a dime of MY money whether it's the time share, Hotel, Pappa Dick(head)s or their new coffee shop. They contribute nothing to this town and are going to ruin us.

Picasso's has been transformed into Papa Dicks Pizza! Open 4-9 except Mondays and for Lunch on the weekends. Papa Dicks Pizza building at Crown Point has been transformed into a coffee house. Both are really good places to go.

I've seen one advertisement for the restaurant, now called "Picasso's". It's only open to the public on Fri and Sat evenings from 5-9 and Sunday Brunch.
They've been using it to woo prospective time-share buyers.

Sounds to me that since these people cleaned a little house the ones that were thrown out want to write some negative comments. The thing is It is not time share it is a vacation package that lets families go to some extraordinary places with out paying an arm and leg for. I am a member and I trust my money with them. How did I find out they cleaned house because I read your comment and called the resort. I bought back in April and when I came back to visit them I was amazed at the progress that they had made. It is amazing to me what people will do to try to hold a place back, when all it will do in the long run is build a stronger community and build jobs in that area. I can not wait to go back and enjoy another one of my 2 free nights and play some golf......

I didn't want to give you the impression that there is anything wrong with the resort. It is beautiful, great golf course, wonderful fitness center and pool (is it open yet??). However, the people there are the ugly ones. The old owners also offered a membership to the property but it never caught on but we did conventional advertising in magazines, not bothering people with telemarketing. I hope you enjoy your stay in Horsehoe Bend (yes, I live here). There are plenty of places close by to visit and very relaxing in the evening. I can't say much about the new staff at the front desk because I've never had the pleasure of meeting them however, it's the upper management, people you probably wont ever see, that are felons and just old time flim-flam men. As for helping the community, I wish. Ask anyone in this community and they will tell you that the only difference they make here is giving us gossip being in the papers for all their barroom brawls, police involvment and being dead drunk at work. I am retired but I chose to work at the resort for 3 years because it IS so beautiful and we contributed alot to the community. Just ask the Boy Scout Troop here how they met there or Spring River Art Association that had art shows twice a year and the community groups that would install Christmas trees in the lobby during the season. The new owners kicked them out as soon as they took control. They want nothing to do with our community just their pockets. So, again, please enjoy your time here, fishing, boating and sightseeing but don't think for a minute they care about you, just your money and I hope you never have to go through what our poor guests went through when I was there with their parties till 3am, police being called daily and fights in the parking lot. The community however DO appreciate you coming here and wish you a wonderful vacation in our town.

Well "Just Sayin" if you are so adamant why don't you reveal yourself and say who you really are. It is easy to talk about a place when you can hide behind a fake name. All I know is that I have fun and enjoy myself and I have meet the Upper People aka Paul, Tom and here recently Pat when I was down last time. Pat One of the UPPERS was laying down the new Shuffle Board area, that is where i meet him. So if you are trying to say all they care about is their pockets I would defiantly say that you are wrong, as for starting rumors look at what you are doing. I have peaceful stays there I enjoy everything about it, even the PEOPLE!!!!! So if it is not for you I guess the best thing for you to do is just forget about it and move on. I believe that "Only you can ruin your day" and if you are letting this ruin your day then shame on you. But Please spreading your own mean negative comments are nothing but SLANDER and just shows how little you know about the place. I wish that everyone would come and enjoy the peaceful relaxation that I have at Cedar Glades.

Maybe they don't want people bitching them out so they don't reveal their names! You're probably a worker
Saying you enjoy your stay which that's what they are paid to say :) I worked there and I saw dirty crap going on that's why I up and left! So maybe the place is "nice" but stuff happens behind closed doors and people have fake personalities!! It's life you be fake to get

AMAZING!!!!

OMG must be another disgruntled employee.... Is it that amazing to have someone like a place, like the people at a place and enjoy themselves! and no I am not an employee. Stuff happens every where and if someone said things didn't it would be a lie. but making fake names to Bitch about it is stupid and most people who slander under a fake name do so because they know they can be SUED! People focus on the good in your life and stop sending your negative shit out there because your an unhappy person and have nothing better to do!

All your posts are fine and good, but just answer me one question, if we are in a dry county, how is it that papa dicks serves beer and wine to people and a table away there are children eating. How is that right, doesn't dry county mean no booze, So you get around this by claiming private club? Well how does that work? Sign the book? I know alot that never sign the book when they come in there. Just wondering how this works, don't seem right to me.
And don't tell me it ain't happening, cause it has been.

Yes, it happens however, Pappa Dicks and the Blue Goose both have legal liquor licenses. You need to go to a class in Little Rock so you understand all the ABC rules. When HillHighs Carriage Room and TipTop Room were open they also sold liquor. At that time the ABC required in a dry county you had to have a membership to a private club BUT you didn't have to pay a membership fee. Therefore, just signing in is acceptable. I personally don't have a problem with beer or liquor being sold in a resteraunt.. have you ever been to a nice eatery in a city? Red Robin, which is a very nice hamburger place and caters to families have full service bars in their establishments. Someone having a drink at the table next to a child will not traumatize a child anymore than sitting on a public toilet seat will give you STD's. If you have such a problem with children being near liquor, patronize another eatery. As far as the pizza @ Pappa Dicks, I have eaten there and enjoyed it very much with my beer. I have heard from people in town that have been to the coffee house that it too is very good. I have no problem with the property, the amenities and their food, never wanted to give you that impression. I have a problem with the ownership, the way they treat their people and how they conduct themselves that to me is unproffessional and shady. The only real problem that I have with the Blue Goose is that, as someone else said, there was never any smoking allowed in the room. The balcony was quite convenient for smoking and very few people had problems with those rules. So, the gentleman from West Memphis, when you come to our town, please stay for a weekend, enjoy our fishing, boating and food. You can stay at the resort, Box Hound Marina has cabins and some of the real estate companies have short term rental houses.
BTW, I'm glad you put your name on your posts Paula because now i know who you are. You are one of the managers of the call center that bother people in their homes between 5pm and 9pm, promising them keys to a nonexistant free truck. How DO you sleep at night? Everything you post is an advertisement for the resort and I'm sure that Paul is standing there telling you what to write. I do not believe for one second that you read a post on here and called the resort to find out about us "disgruntled" employees. C'mon, do you think we are stupid, puleeze!

Yes I have been to many fine places with my children, and drinks are served, but never in a DRY COUNTY! Why are we a dry county if there is soooooo many places to drink?? I have nothing against having drinks, I just don't understand it, to me it makes no sense, guess I am dumb cause it flys right over my head how the law works with this. And if you going to move or buy a place in a dry county Why then open these private clubs to drink?????? Like I said I just don't get it, to me it defies reasonable behavior. I see the law as black or white, no gray areas and this looks like a gray area to me. Guess I will never understand it! But if anyone can explain it where it makes sense I would love to listen.

My understanding, possibly not right, is that in a dry county they can't sell beer or liquor in package stores or grocery stores. Having drinks in a bar is more regulated as bartenders as "supposed" to stop selling drinks if they have symptoms of having too much. I don't agree with this point because when adults go out to a bar and drive home afterwards, it is more dangerous to others than having a few drinks in the comfort and safety of your home. The public service annoumcements lately about buzzed drinking, which can happen after one drink, is still too much if you are going to drive. Anyone else, comments?

Nope that can't just be it, cause I worked in Vegas and by law you had to cut them off too, if they appeared drunk, even in the stores that sold booze. There has to be more to this law than I am not understanding, I guess I need to go to the liq. board and just ask them, get a copy of the laws or stats, and figure this out.
I am not out to cause a stink, but really no one seems to be able to explain this to me where it makes any sense at all.
The law is the law is the law, is this truely legal? That is all I want to know, and why is it this way in a dry county? Is this some loophole that makes this legal? Why would the law be set up this way?
And if you are a drinker, why would you move into a dry county and start bars aka private clubs, don't you believe the people voted this a dry county for a reason.
