My mom and dad had their honeymoon there in 1980. I can't believe that is what it looked like. Thank you Stanford T for showing the pic this means a lot to me, I am going to e-mail this to them and let them reminisce.

I think you might mean #2 cave city wigwam. Hasn't the #1 horse cave village been gone for quite sometime. I was thinking it was closed back in the sixties.

Wigwam Village #1, east of Horse Cave, was built during the the late 1930's, or early 40's. I know some young men who worked there in the late 40's. This is a true picture of the one east of Horse Cave. I am old, and I can remember.

I agree that this is a true pic of Wiwam's no. 1 East of Horse Cave, however I am pretty sure they were still there but not open in the 80's. Your parents probably stayed in the ones that are still open in Cave City.

Wow this is great.Wish the picture was larger so you could see it better.I have seen a picture my grandmother had similar to this but hers is different and she also had a picture farther up the road.My great grandparents had a small resturant that closed down in the 50's due to my great grandfathers health. This was all way before my time but if I am remembering what she told me correctly their building is still there,it is the little white building across the street from the carwash,I think someone has remodeled it and is know living in it as a house.I am not exactly sure if that is it though. My grandmother has recently passed away so I'm not sure of the pictures location but I will try to find it and post it when I can.I was alive in 80 though I was only 6,I do not remember any wigwams still standing then in H.C. only C.C.but I had heard of them.Happy Holidays to all!

This little restaurant was called Polly Parrots. They had the greatest hamburgers EVER! A special sauce that was unbelievable. I remember both of them, and the best way to describe them is Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus. I can tell you more about them and this great place to eat, if you are interested.

Sorry,I haven't replied sooner but I am very excited to find someone who knew them!Yes,my great grandparents were/are the Parrot's.I have only heard about them and of course seen their pictures but I truly do not know much about either of them.My grandmother is/was Marietta,I think it hurt her to much to talk about them, she missed them so much.Sorry,it has taken so long to respond to you but I have a little that has been sick but she is better now and I try not to look at this site to often,I find that it has a negative effect on my personality.Thank you for your response and I hope you had a nice holiday.Oh,by the way did I have the right location of the resturant?

Not sure?I will ask them. They both seem to remember people well.I can remeber people's faces but not their names.I guess if I got to choose between the two I would still rather remember their faces, instead of their names,it seems to make people happy when you remember them even though you feel silly because you can't recall their name.Hope that made sense. The name kind of sounds familiar.

I bet they do or did!I have seen an indian costume and pictures of one of my great great uncle's that made a trip out west, they were in black and white but I don't remember hearing when. Most likely all of that was auctioned off when they sold my great grandmothers farm.I'm giving myself away by saying this but it is the farm behind the C.C.village but you may already have guessed that if you know my family?I used to go over there all the time when I was a child.
