Whom are some of the best teachers, administrators, and staff in Caverna's history??? The school system has been around almost 60 years, so anyone from any age range could probably remember a lot.

Ms.Moad.. We always made fun of her name because it rhymed with commode and toad.

We called her Ms. Moad toad commode. lol

But Ms. Ballard was my favorite teacher there. I moved from Caverna when I was in 3rd grade. I'm 25 years old now.

I actually went to work at Caverna about 2 years ago as a sub. and I got to tell Ms.Ballard that she was my favorite teacher there when I was little.

I quit there due to health problems.

Yes, he was one of the better ones. And in the elementary it would have had to of been Mrs. Huffman, Mrs. Donnelsmen, Miss. Gossett, Mr. Witcher, Mrs. Broome. All of the ones I just mentioned were all great. They actually cared if you learned or not.
In the high school it would have been: Mrs. Wise, Mr. Wise, Mr. Duvall, Mrs. Branstetter, Mr. Gowdy, and there were a few more. They all seemed to care about the students too. We need more like them in our school system today, then maybe the children could actually learn something.
They need to re-think who they put in the central offices to. From who they have in there now, only Mr. Scott, Mrs. Bishop, Mr. Faulkner, Mrs. Emmit and Mrs. Vicky know how to do their job right. And they are also the only ones that seem to have a heart and are not hypocrites like the rest of the bunch.

I almost forgot Mrs. Vicky Hensley, she was a good teacher too. There are a few more I just cannot think of their names right now. There where a lot more teachers back then who really did care about the students not just their paychecks. It does not seem to be that away anymore. It is very sad.
Now as far as the elementary school now: Mrs. Gossett, Mrs.Houk, Mrs.Gilpin, Mrs.J.Scott, Mrs. Parsley, Mr.Davis, Mr.Beechum, Miss.Williams, Mrs. Hensley and a few more are great.
At the high school now would be: Mr.Gower,Ms. Adams, Mrs.West,Mrs. Cronister, and a couple more upstairs but that is about it.

In all school systems there are good and bad teachers. There have been so many good ones at Caverna its hard to name them all. Yes there have been some that should have never been given a teacher certificate and there were some who may have been excellent teachers in their younger days but held on to the job just way to long. Some of the great ones that I remember are: Mrs Judy Wise, Mr. Forrest Wise, Mrs Joyce Robinson, Coach Sam Dick, (Dr. Sam Dick now), Coach Johnny Belcher, Coach Kim Shaw, Mrs Mary Kay Shaw, Mr Jim Kesslar, Mr Joe Duval, Mr. Dale Wathal, Mrs Vicky Hensley, Coach Phil Gowdy, Mrs Joyce Self, Mr Randy Scott just to name a few. All of the people named above each inspired me in some way while I attended there. I know that I have left a few out and I apologize if their names don't come to me as quickly as they did when I was younger lol. I do want to say that Dr J Leland Clack was by far the Best principal that school has ever seen. We could have been stuck with people like Mr. Gene Best the Assistant principal for a while. LOL

In the Horse Cave elementary before the consolidation of Caverna Elementary, Mrs. Duncan, Mrs.Handy, Mrs. Terry, Mr. Weaver was the principal, I did not care for Mrs. Davis I guess I was scared of her, but that does not mean she was not an inspiration fo others. Gosh that has been so long ago, you tend to forget those carefree years.

yeah, I had forgotten about Mrs. Handy. I loved her, she was so sweet and a very good teacher too. She passed away a year or two ago. Mrs. Terry did too, I think. Yes I do remember most of the ones you named too. But I did like Mrs. Davis, she was just a little loud sometime, but she is an excellent teacher and still is. Johnny Belcher, Leland Clack and Mrs. Clack, and so on.....
It is a shame that we do not have teachers like they were back in our day, today for our children. What has this world come to and where is it going?
