I hate to see the diner go but it is just another in a lllllllooooooooonnnnnnnnnggggg gggggg line of failed businesses because Horse Cave has made itself a laughing stock of the area. No one wants to come here and support the local businesses. I see new businesses going up in Munfordville, Cave City, Upton, Sonora, etc. but not in Horse Cave.

It seems that the theater and the cave are not enough to make Horse Cave successful after all.

you are very correct, horse cave isnt a dying town tho,its already dead.has been for yrs now and will continue to be dead, the only thing that could possibly help make horse cave grow any is if the city would vote itself completely wet,not moist but wet, complete with bars and taverns and restaurants and package liquer stores.this is the only thing that could bring some life back into horse cave.you see, horse cave has been slowly dying ever since they built I65,now all the traffic goes by on the interstate.there is no need for anyone to get off the interstate at horse cave, other than the adult book store and it has brought alot of dollars to the area and im all for the adult book store.i wish the dance club would open back up again after the city votes wet.

I agree that going wet would help Horse Cave. It is the only thing that will help. This moist sales all around would not hold a candle to package sales. They could vote package liquor sales only, but that would not attract resturants.

I think that full wet with package sales is the only thing that will save Horse Cave.

Yeah I hated to see the dinner go, it was the only decent place here to eat. The food was great and the ppl that owned it were awsome. They were always trying to serve what the public wanted...

horse cave at the moment is dead!!
what needs to happen:

get rid of all the OLD blood in the council, bring in new healthy blood with NEW IDEAS

have the business owners downtown clean up there act, give the place a NEW LOOK (as an example the bookstore downtown is nasty, and all those books every where isnt that a FIRE hazard?? doesn't this town have inspections??) ENFORCE CODES!

GET WET for god sakes folks we are in the 2100 century not the 1800th century, time to get with it

turn that old building, that was something with the trains, for the children and teens to do with supersion, get some game tables, games, al kinds of games, have pop machines, candy, i do think this would be a great thing, but YOU HAVE TO HAVE A ADULT there over seeing them.

give the town a FACE LIFT

you would be surpised to see what a difference this would make

Totally agree.

That is what I have been saying for over a year. We need to get rid of ALL of them.

They have ALL mishandled the public trust and they ALL need to be voted out.

We need individuals that are 25 years old as of election day, 2010. They need to be residents of Horse Cave for at least 1 year as of election day. They need to live in Horse Cave during their term of office. That's about it.

They need to be willing to serve as Mayor and City Council members. They need to have the drive and motivation to bring Horse Cave into the 21st century. They need to want to make Horse Cave a place to be proud of again. They need to cast away the self-serving attitudes of this and the previous administration. They need to be honest and forthright. They need to be true to the citizens of Horse Cave. They need to be good people.

if you ever want horse cave to grow , get a costruction crew to bull doze it down, a bunch of inmates from jail to clean up the old memories, some people from kentucky university to design the new town and start all over with a fresh idea with parking for business's, and have county give tax break's to all business's not just the big factory's.

you don't bulldoze towns down dummy, you figure out what it takes to repair a town and you fix it,how do you do that?start with an education, which alot of you prominent citizens on topics choose to ignore having,question--how can you sit around trying to fix something that requires brains when you've chose not to nurture your own.get a life losers

always right , you are the one living the past , they bull doze the old the past and put new towns up all the time , its called progress dummy , horse cave has no parking , no convience and no people to draw to no business . the city and county need to work towards tax incentives and loans for small business's and parking , as long as you think small you will stay small. have fun with your little 1 minded town while everyone spends there money in glasgow to make there county rich , someday you will wake up and figure it out.

horse cave has never wanted to grow even before i 65 who would want to run a business with the town council that you have.a smart person would not want on the council anyway.

Daily Horoscope for January 3

Aries

There is a strong focus on career and parental matters today. You need to be cautious regarding your dealings with someone in authority - things may not be what they seem. This is also a good day to spend time with your partner. Communication in general should prove to be smoother sailing than usual so this would be an opportune time to discuss delicate matters with others. Good news in the evening is indicated.
