Winkler indicates she stood up amid abuse

Mary Winkler, charged with killing her minister husband, indicated that she had shot him in an attempt to stand up for herself, according to testimony last week by police who found her in Alabama.

Too many people are killing their husbands/wifes and not asking for a divorce. Why didn't she go to her parents who have $$$$ and seek their help. No she killed her husband. Shame on the judge, her lawyers and her parents. Shame on the church for thinking what she done to her husband was correct. Selma is the not the place that I would want to live in. Go and live in Selma and if you are not happy with your husband or wife, just kill them and get out of jail.

She doesn't have parents, her Mother is deceased. She does have her Dad. I read that he was also a minister at one time. The article I read seemed to imply he is retired and no longer an active minister. I doubt he has $$$$ as you wrote, where did you get information on his finances?

Shame on you. Shame on you for making comments when you have no idea what you are writing about. Shame on you for pretending you know what happened. Shame on you for not having the common decency to keep your thoughts to yourself. Shame on you for commenting on another persons finiacial means when you don't have a clue. Shame on you for commenting on Mary Winklers parents, not attempting to find out if her parents are living. I hope that pious pedestal you are on can hold you for awhile.

Yes, I lived with an abusive "man of the Church" for 23 years. He killed my self-confidence and self-esteem to the point that I thought I had no other way out. I was able to leave, but it took me 23 years to do so in fear of what would happen to me and my children when and if I did leave. We all may want to walk a mile in Mary Winkler's moccasions before we judge. My heart is with her and trust me, until you've lived in a volatile household for an extended period of time, you have no idea what you are capable of.

Chelsea man victim of an online scam

There's a new online scam going around that cost a Lapeer woman nearly $3,000, left a Chelsea man with the aggravation of knowing his identify was stolen and apparently benefited someone in Poland or Russia.

State Police Detective Sgt. Fred Farkas said the scam unraveled recently when the Chelsea man notified his bank that a check with his name and bank information on it had been forged.

Farkas said it turned out that the scam involved a 19-year-old Lapeer woman who answered a help-wanted ad at jobfinder.com for a "money transfer manager.'' Without any contact with the job provider other than e-mail, the woman took the job, Farkas said. The job entailed receiving checks from different sources, made out in the woman's name, cashing them, keeping 10 percent and wiring the other 90 percent to the employer.

By the time the woman had sent on $3,000 last week, the Chelsea man had reported the fraudulent activity on his account, and the woman's account was frozen. Farkas said investigators traced the wired money to Poland and Russia.

Farkas said the man got his money back from his bank, but the Lapeer woman who took the job for a little extra money is instead out her money. Police have still not determined how the scam artists obtained the man's checking account information

You should also find out what really went on in Pegram with Pegram Mayor Morehead, Coach Winkler at Harpeth High School, Barbara Winkler and Mayor Morehead and what Mary Winkler went through in that Pit of Evil and Deception! Those Church of Christ fiends are the center of hate, greed and manipulation.
