It must be very frustrating for board members voting against $119.000 being spent on a dozen or so parents instead of a few hundred student's education. What's wrong with this picture? I can see 119.000 thing's wrong with it, I sure wish we had that kind of money at Canutillo ISD to throw away, oh wait a minute, we did have $2.000.000 to spend on top of the line astro-turf for a football stadium at a middle school. I guess we all have our problem's with our micro-managing school board members.

Per this statement in the above article: "Trustees Liza Montelongo, Beth Riggs and Ray Mendoza voted against awarding the contract to Aliviane."

If this expenditure by YISD is a WASTE or abuse of federal stimulus money; would RECOMMEND Trustees Montelongo, Riggs, and Mendoza READ the page 9-B, El Paso TIMES 'GUEST COLUMN' dated September 13, 2009, titled "Accountability top priority for Texas auditor."

The Texas Auditor can investigate any waste, abuse or fraud of federal stimulus funds.

What's really SAD, is the Country is debating Universial Healthcare, and the Feds can pass out stimulus money for such crazy things as this.

Actually Eastside Mike, the feds leave it up to the local yokels to decided how this stimulus money is spent. The fed do not have say as to where the money goes.

It seems to me as you do do your research, I'm very surprised you didn't do you research on the use of stimulus money.

Be well.

In june when someone wants to check if this program is working or not I am sure they will be told yes and if asked for proof the well be told there is not enough data yet and to check back in another 6 to 9 months and by then the money will all be gone with nothing to show for it. Just another business day in El Paso,

hey drunk..
they provided ways to stay off of it. did you listen? apparently not.
the only way to stay clean is if you actually follow the program. i was in their program.. ive been clean for 5 years now.
they arent the ones who failed.. you failed!- not only yourself, your family, but everyone else in this world. so dont go blaming everyone else for YOUR mistakes.
i am glad they got the contract. they made an impact in my life, and it takes someone who actually knows them and dealt with them to see what potential they have, and it takes ignorant people like yourself to put them down.
to be quite honest, this organization doesnt have to care about educating your kids, or cleaning up the people that El Pasoans throw out, but instead they take the time to help them.
god bless.

For what?
So they can sit back, get paid, and let the students run all over them? I give them props for actually trying to do something about it! They probably adopted the program because they opened their eyes and realized that the teachers weren't doing enough!

Per "Give you the Bird's" comments:

* "Actually Eastside Mike, the feds leave it up to the local yokels to decided how this stimulus money is spent. The fed do not have say as to where the money goes."

8 "It seems to me as you do do your research, I'm very surprised you didn't do you research on the use of stimulus money."

Now did I miss something in your comment?

If people believe there is WASTE, ABUSE or FRAUD in use of ARRA funds provided within TEXAS, they can report those concerns to the Texas Auditor's Office at 1-800-TX-AUDIT.

This is what's stated in that "guest column" by the Texas Comptroller John Keel and printed in the El Paso TIMES.

Come on people. What's a hundred thousand between friends. Hell, just print more money. Give money to anyone.

"MexBrain, I have a good idea. Let's just start printing money and handing it out to the whole world." "Why, Pinky, that is a fine idea. We can use this to buy off all the people and take over the world. I can feel the power!"

Dam putito, in only took you 3 days to get to that one message. Sounds like you had a relapse. And what are you talking about giving my life away, to whom?
You must be talking about your mom giving her panocha away-that tramp. Lots of people love me you waste of human skin.

Getting your point across may be hurtful, but it will be appreciated. You need to make the changes necessary for your happiness. Expect disruptions at home, but try not to take things to heart.
