Does anyone remember the name of the girl that was kidnapped from the Venture store parking lot several years ago. I think her first name was Diana but I can't remember her last name.

I remember when that happened. My mom wouldn't let me go anywhere for about a week.
Her dad was Rev Braungardt from First United Methodist across from the new library.

It's just so sad. I can't imagine losing a child, to begin with, but to have one just disappear, without a trace has to be the worst. Too many unanswered questions and worries.

And that age is such a bad age anyway. Adults, legally, but not really ready for all of the adult issues that come so soon.

We try to raise our children to be aware and know what to do in certain situations, yet it's hard to balance that without robbing them of their innocence.

Then on the other end of the spectrum. I still can't undertand how one could intentionally harm another. How unfair and selfish.

I feel so sorry for Diana's family and friends.

I worked with Diana in customer service and just happened to not be scheduled that night. I can't believe she was never found. I heard at one time there was someone in the sheriff department that had to go to every time a female body was found because he was the expert on her. How awful. Not knowing has to be the worst.

Diana was my friend and her father was our pastor. Her disappearance really hit all of us hard. I hope that some day her truth will be known.

I was in school when she disappeared. Her mom went straight back to work in the cafeteria. Every student including the football players hugged her as she punched our lunch tickets. Our history teacher wrote on the board the info. for unsolved mysteries, the story finally aired. An article in the newspaper once said her mom left the back porch light on every night for her just in case. God bless her family. And by the way Jefferson County is a very unsafe place to live and am glad to not be an inhabitant anymore.

I went to school with Diana and worked with her at Venture. It was a very tragic day in my life when she went missing. I recall having to go to the police station for questioning because I worked with her at Venture. I am now 41 years old, and I still think about it and what could have happened to her. Just recently I was looking at my old yearbooks and came across the page in my senior book where she had given me her senior picture and wrote the sweetest note to me wishing me luck in the future, etc. because I was going away to school. I will always remember her.

Did you know that where kmart is in Festus used to be the venture store. And people say the parking lot is haunted. The workers there say they can hear a girl screaming at night but no one is there. It's probably the ghost of Diana.

I went to Elem school with Diana back in Winfield, MO. My mother and her mom were close, I had moved to Texas when she disappeared, and for whatever reason, I thought of her today, and thought I would see what I could find on her disappearance. Truly a sad event. I hope her parents were able to grieve. I also hope that the SOB who took her, rots in Hell. She was always a sweet girl and throughout the years I think about her.

I knew Diana and her brother when they lived in St. Charles in the earlier 80's. Their dad was our minister, and I dated Diana's brother Dan. I never knew where Festus was.....until I moved to nearby DeSoto! You would think in 23 years there would be some kind of clue. I miss Diana, even though the last time I ever saw her she was just a "pain in the butt" little sister. My heart goes out to her family
