Point Marion park facilities will be made accessible to disabled

Point Marion Community Park soon will become wheelchair-friendly. During a meeting Wednesday, borough council voted to give New Atlas Development Inc. via Herald-Standard

I think that the borough of Point Marion needs to think of more things than making the park more beautiful than dealing and worrying about having access for the handicapped. I had taken my two children there last summer to play and it was disgusting... there were broken bottles on the ground, trash everywhere, people driving through around by the loading area for the boats, that were drinking and driving and burning tire on their way out, the picnic tables where it would be enjoyable to have a family outing were spray painted with graffitti, and were falling apart. The courts for basketball playing etc were something that you would see in the ghetto... I grew up in Point marion and myself would be embarrased to claim that I did after seeing the condition that a park that i remember growing up at and playing as a child was in that condition... I would not take my children back there....

I think that the first sentence of your comment was very rude! Have you no heart about you? I think that it is a wonderful idea. Imagine your child handicapped. You would definitely change your mind then. People didn't ask to be handicapped. No matter what the cause, they are people, with feelings, just like you and me. Yes,everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but let's not be selfish. It's a community park, and if that means making it a better place for our community, then so be it!

I was not saying anything bad about handicapped people! My quote was about how the park looked before ! And I do hope that they clean it up a lot, cause the last time that I was there it was not a place i would like to take my children ! Where did you get that i was amking a comment about handicapped people! Take your anger out on someone else !
