God bless the boy and his family. The troopers are lying swine who are tring to save their own you know whats. Please, the one trooper says his weapon accidentally fired? And it accidentally fired an accurate path into someone's body? There are disputes about the number of shots fired. The kid was unarmed and didn't make any attempts to harm the troopers, he was running away.

It smells like BS to me.

I say don’t even appeal the decision. Pay the man! Use this as a case study. If you give an orangutan a loaded shot gun, eventually he will learn to pull the trigger. Maybe the "father" can use the money to take parenting classes. This should be interesting
