Well, I have to agree with Sol. I know from first hand information having spoke to a Sheriff's Deputy that specifically told me it was 70 pounds approximately. So somebody made a typo somewhere!
This is irresponsible. Law enforcement tends to artificially inflate these numbers for the purpose of grabbing headlines and securing promotions. 700 lbs makes the entire operation seem like it's a serious cartel-based operation in a national forest. 70 lbs could easily be had from less than 10 plants which are carefully tended on a fenced-in lot. It's a very important distinction.

How can we have any discussion of what's going on when we can't even trust the information we're being fed?

I can't believe half of these comments that are being posted and all these racist people out there. Only God can judge and for the racist people your time will come.

When it comes to judging local pot growers, god seems to be as busy as Tom Allman.

Blah blah blah.. 70 pounds wouldn't take 19 workers and a30x60 building.. I am going to believe the media and the sources that the Press Democrat used and the Sf paper..
But in the end, it doesn't matter, this was not medical marijuana production this was drug growing and dealing.. I think we should prosecute drug dealers as harshly as murderers here in the U.S. make a damn example out of people and things will change..

Being Mexican American this story is embarrassing and makes me ashamed. This gives the honest people working an honest living a bad name. Let them do some jail time.

Why is it that people that want marijuna to be legal, do not get the violent crime associated with this plant. I can rob a bank and at the most get a couple thousand dollars. I would have the FBI and all surrounding law enforcement agencies after me. but if I steal a marijuana plant ($3,000)nothing is going to happen to me. Who cares if the owner of the garden takes a shot at me with his gun and accidently kills a kid down the road, I wont go to jail. All I have to do is make sure that I dont get hit. I am sick of the smell and the people that have come to our community because of this plant. Look at Wal Mart and Safeway...it is bum central. They are sitting at wal mart like a bunch of mexicans in front of Home Depot. All they are doing is waiting to get picked up for a trimming job. When are we going to take our community back. The police cannot do it alone. I saw if you see a marijuana plant growing sneak into your neighbors yard spray the weed with round up. How can we have our town back...
