and then in 2000, PG&E began instituting energy rebates. Now people can get a solar system with zero down. Families will spend $100,000 on energy in the next 25 years. If they have solar, that number goes down to $20,000. What makes more sense than that?" You make it sound so wonderful, the only thing is that the money you save comes from tax dollars in the form of grants, it BS the whole energy star program is a sham paid for by tax payers, its impossible to get something for nothing. In fact if it you had to pay for the wind or solar system yourself it would not pencil out, thats why it does not make sence.

Tax dollars go to PG&E and the so called "private" energy as well. I have tremendous respect for people that produce energy.

PG&E charges the maximum and gives as little as possible--that is how the company makes money. Extremely unfortunate that this so called "private" company can do things like lobby government and have laws passed, as well as condemn property from private owners. PG&E is also a heavy weight and milks local governments for all their worth.

Most people don't have a choice since they can't afford the down payment to make their own energy: for most the choice is either pay PG&E or go without power.
Wow that much
