Lot of misinformation out there. Guy was not flown to Vanderbilt at any time, I do not believe he was ever stable enough to be life flighted anywhere. Police scanner said that the family was very upset he wasn't taken and they needed to be escorted to the hospital. Regardless, very sad, especially for the family.

And Kelvin futrell the production manager made the employees continue to run parts even after Jason died. It's a lot of stories but I know that martinrea needs to be shut down and OSHA will be there tomorrow morning

What line did this happen on?used to work out there and the plant caught fire 3 times within a couple months and they would send us back in with not even letting the smoke clear out.doesnt surprise me that they would send workers back to the floor to run production after something like this! The robot should not of had power to it if he was in the cage!someone in maintenance probly rigged it up,like they always did when i worked there ! This factory needs to be fully inspected by osha guarantee they get shut down or go out of business paying fines. Prayers for this person and his family!

Martinrea Hopkinsville is so poorly ran its crazy. The maintenance workers don't have the proper things they need to do there just so they are forced to bandage thing up to continue to run. All I know it that he locked the machine out properly but this happened. He was a really good guy. They let him lay there and employees could see him and all. They even took him out of the building in front of the employees. This same line just caught fire about 4 days ago. Now someone has lost a life. It shouldn't have to come to this. But I guarantee that they are there trying to fix everything up to code before OSHA gets there in the morning. I hope and pray they shut them down for good. Hopkinsville plant is a disgrace to Martinrea as a whole.

The descriptions of the Hopkinsville plant sound identical to the plant in shelbyville.
Safety is no concern to martinrea. In fact. A near miss happened there just yesterday where a robot hit a worker, seriously injuring him. The company's response? clean up the blood and keep running.
