ER DEPT is a joke, had to wait there 6 hours to see a doc. This place has been bad for years and nothing will be done about the problems, wish Mr Eric Lee would go down and take a look some night when things are fast????? This is a disgrace to our community and has been for years, time to make some changes as I know why people go to Clarksville to see docs> Share your experiences??????

Are they overwhelmed? Yeah.. I had a pretty good cut on my arm one time that needed to be stitched up.. But considering the circumstances of the other patients - in much worse shape - I wasn't apathetic at all. Go to any ER, anywhere. They're all always packed and busy. It's not a Hopkinsville thing, believe me. If they could take care of the things that were simple first, they would. I don't pretend to know your medical situation, but unless your heart was failing or you were stabbed,(or anything legitimately life threatening) I don't have much sympathy for you. It's the same for everyone.

If the ER would stop accepting patients with a sore throat hang nail, menstrual cramps, etc., it would improve. As long as you have people with medicaid and no primary care dr, it will never get any better. If you're really sick, call an ambulance, that's the only way you'll be seen quicker.

It is a joke, only used for a doctors office for the ones that do not have any insurance. Most of the ones there have no business being in an ER. I bet 8o% of the case load should not be there but should be seen in a doctors office. This has been a big problem in Hopkinsville for years and nothing can be done about it. It looks bad when the docs and nurses are sitting behind the window eating and having fun while people are needing help. Clarksville does not make you wait that long for some reason?

You waited so long because obviously...you weren't considered a true emergency (hmmm Emergency Dept?). I am not saying you weren't sick or hurt, but emergencies and sicker people always come first. Last time I checked, convenient care was first come first served.

They treat the drunks better that they do sick people. If a good looking white woman comes in they will run to take care of them, might get a free peep????? This place needs a makeover, worst dept in the whole hospital.

That is one hospital that has no service at all. They don't really care if you live or die. The bad part of it is that the management does not care. Plus if some of the agencies that oversees hospital was to ever do a surprise inspection, they would close it down. And they all grip about money, but it's just not going toward repairs, equipment and better service...it's going straight in someones pocket. There was hope at one time when the past chairman was retiring, but what did the committee do, vote the next man in line under the old administration in. You can't get changes made from the same old ones that always run it. And the worst thing I have seen is the fact that so many relatives are hired there even though it's against policy and that all the male directors are after one thing after there big salary...that is anything that wears a skirt.

No one in the ER can be turned, regardless of what is wronge so dont blame the staff, take a good, long look at the patients in the waiting room...not a damn thing wronge with over half of them. THATS why customer service sucks, people get tired of people coming in faking for drugs and coming in for every little thing when convient care is 100 ft. away and is meant for little, non emergent medical problems. And sorry if you came in with a wrist injury and god forbid they took a 85 year old man stright back before you who was clutching at his chest or the 4 year old boy who is unconcious because he just got hit by a car going 35 mph. Quit being so god damn selfish, the problem started in the community and the community brought into the hospital into the emergency department. Oh and the dumbass who says that if someone came in and inspected jsmc would get shut down, you better get to the correct facts, this happens VERY often and it would take a lot for a hospital to get shut down, looks like the doors are still open, go get your head checked out.

I went to convient care the other day because I think I have a peptic ulser in my stomach and I saw a women come in who cut her finger off and she had a rag around her hand that was drenched in blood and she pleaded with them to do something about it and they told her she had to wait her turn and everybody else was in there for the stomach flu WTF!!!!!!!!!

The problem is with the Medicaid recipients that think the ER is a friggin Dr's office. I know the ER takes patients based on priority but if they would tell the person with a sore throat or ear infection to go to a Dr. during regular hours, this would be a non-issue. It doesn't help matters that "CONVENIENT CARE" has decided they won't see people with simple broken bones, breathing issues. CC sends them to the ER so the hospital gets a higher payment from the insurer.

er supporter, FINALLY someone who gets it! Thank you for an accurate post. I just love how most people love to run their local hospital down...JSMC is not immune to this. Every hospital in every town/city across America deals with the same false complaints.

On the inside, also CC is known to consistently send people to the E.R.simply because they don't want or can't deal with it. Also, the E.R.is required by law to treat everyone who walks in the door. Maybe it's the law that needs to be changed.

people that work during the day cant always just take off whenever they want to to go see a doctor somtimes the kids get sick at night with a 103 plus temp. that when you have noe choice but go to the er i hate it but nevertheless sometimes it cant be avoidedd. so either the local doctors need to have somthing open throughout the night or the er just needs to batten down the hatches and deal with it you get paid to do your jobs so stop complaining and get to work, work your a$$ off if you have to you are a doctor or a nurse a professional so stop crying about the work you do and get it done nobody cares if you get your coffe break or get to play on the internet they are all sick people and you need to address them as quickly as possible and stop adding to the problem of lazy A$$e$ around hear or quit or job and find another profession.

That is not entirely true-by law they can be triaged(evaluated) and if it's determined their condition is non-emergent they can be refused ER treatment.

I can't believe how STUPID some people are! I had to go last year when a tree limb fell on me (concussion). I sat in the waiting area for only a couple of minutes. You should have heard the commotion in the waiting area when they called me back. Three selfish people went up and demanded to go before me because they got there first. ER is for emergencies. Next time if you don't want to wait that long for an non-emergency - don't go!
