Another case of responsible gun ownership! When will these people admit that the idea they will stop a crime with these things is a fantasy and happens rarely, while the chance that a family member will get hurt, maimed, or murdered with their weapon is significantly more realistic and common.

You are a proven liar. The above statement is a lie. You KNOW it's a lie!

Like your God, Obama, you use a tragedy to promote your Socialist agenda.

That special place in hell awaits you.

I don't see how this was an accident, the guy left the gun on the table he was going to clean it, really??? Cleaning a gun with small children in house that is crazy, plus was it an accident when you brought the gun inside the home?? These people needs to go to jail for having a gun within a child's reach and for not watching the kids

I am all in favor of gun ownership. However, just like everything else in society, that right comes with responsibility. Never should a person clean a gun inside the house with small children around. Do I think the grandfather should go to jail, No. He will live with the burden of being responsible for his grandchilds death.

Fantasy and happens rarely. It happens so it is not fantasy. I rarely get in a car accident but I wear my seatbelt 100% of the time. There is nothing wrong with gun ownership but shit happens. Car accidents happen all the time but banning driving is out of the question. Alcohol is responsible for more accidental deaths each year and serves no purpose orher than to impair judgement, yet it is legal and laughably regulated. Check yourself.

Abortion is purposely killing a baby.

This was an accident.

Just to clarify, a four year old did the shooting. I'm just guessing, but i doubt the 4 year old was a gun nut.

You guys will crawl through shit to advance the Socialist agenda.

You will join the other idiot in hell's special place.

Guns dont kill people anymore than cars kill people. It's irresponsible actions that kill people. Get over it...and quit wanting to blame an object. You, people who want to make fun of conservatives and religious people are real pieces of work... you treat anyone who doesnt agree with you like idiots when the fact of the matter is you all are the idiots... and Anonymouse you feel the need to stick your nose in every issue...you are not an authority on everything...in fact as much as you are on Topix I would say you are a lonely person who nobody listens to in real life so you use the internet to make yourself feel important. And all you people who want to make fun of "Jeebus" , He nor his followers care about your immature, unimaginative comments...
With all that said... this is a tragedy, not something to become a political issue...a child is dead...a family is suffering...show some respect...

Who cleans a gun with one in the chamber? Who leaves a loaded gun laying around small children?
No accident!
The words you are looking for are "gross negligence".

I feel very sad for this family. Definitely something very hard to live with on your conscience. You can never be too careful with a gun around children. I would say I don't think he should be charged with anything. It was an accident. If it were an Amish kid who died they would never see a charge. They have accidents with kids all the time and you don't see them ever getting locked up. I'm tired of the Amish around here being above the law!!

If you can watch this video of the grandfather chilling shirtless in the same room where he allowed this little girl to be gunned down and think this man has any remorse for what happened or the has any clue real danger he caused then you must be utterly stupid or not have a heart in your chest.

Negligence. I can tell you exactly how many bullets are in my home, I can tell you where they are, and I can tell you they aren't currently in my pistol.

'I didn't know it was loaded,' is never an excuse with a gun. And why would you clean a gun with two children around either way?

Because they get a free ticket...hiding behind their retard religion.

Gun nutz are the ONES who are losing their rights...its their faults. They wont even point the finger where the finger needs pointing.....as another smart person said "gross negligence"....

You ever hear of ppl getting in trouble for not having the proper fence style/height/gated fence around their pools and some kid drowns? Yeah thats right if you build a pool you HAVE to make it safe for stray children who MIGHT wonder into it...But guns????

HELL NO! The darn rednecks think their kids squirt right out of the uterus ready to pack! They think "their kids are smarter and understand guns and are use to them" as usual they are WRONG.

How did the kid even know how to properly grab the gun? Hummm maybe he had been shown how to before....just guessing.

Christians are scared to death that their sweet little angels might accidentally wonder onto some porn on the pc and see some sex or boobs and they spend hundreds buying safety blocking programs, but leave guns...loaded guns around the house....DUHH.

Christian mind: guns defend jeebus and Israel , sex is a sin.....Violence is good, love is nasty. Go figure.
True gun enthusiast and second amendment thumpers should be standing against blatant gun misuse, not defending it.
Its real easy to see your mindsets…I mean you said nothing when the Newtown shooting happened….you only screamed “my guns, we need more guns and ammo and faster! No rules! We don’t want’em, if everyone had guns it would be better!!!!””

If a janitor left out a bottle of Drano in the bathroom at elementary school, and your little kid drank it and died….you would not be screaming “accident” you’d be suing for negligence……..Its simple.

That is one of the most ignorant posts I have ever read. You have contributed absolutely nothing to this conversation, other than making your lack of education blatantly obvious. I mean that post is BAD. I can't tell if you're just trolling for hateful responses or if you're just utterly retarded. 1/10 for getting me to respond, but I have a hunch you're just an ignorant single mother living off welfare and child support. Please refrain from speaking what's on your small ape-like mind and go titty feed your spawn or some shit, just gtfo.

'Man, that post was dumb and didn't add anything to the conversation. I better make a post calling that poster names so they'll understand.'

So how do you feel about the child that got shot because a loaded gun was just hanging out near her sibling?

Kid's fault, should have known what a gun does from watching TV.

Yes, because four-year-olds are known for their ability to interpret danger and be rational. Why can't they smoke cigarettes and drink beer? I wonder.
