If Kentucky leaves the union what the hell are we going to do with Hopkinsville? Can it be blown off the map so we don't have to deal with all the Obama lovin people?

Puhleez. I'm sick of all this crybaby posturing. All you've managed to do thus far is sign a worthless petition that may not even garner a "No" as a response. Your side lost, get over it. If you can't, at least quit talking about it. It'd be different if even a single one of you was actually going to do anything about it.

Not only are you not, you know no one expects you to. So you can sit there, beat your chest, sign your petitions, and feel good about yourself without having actually done anything.

What do you expect with a half breed, Muslim, Communist running the county, who spends other peoples money like a drunken sailor?

Let me explain. The USA has never been a Christian nation, not since the founding of the country.

For one, the biggest set of laws that govern this country, the Constitution, does not say we are. In fact, the only reference to a deity, "The Creator" is very firmly reflective of the deistic line of thinking represented in Thomas Jefferson, Ben Franklin, and many other founding fathers.

The beliefs of the founders wouldn't have allowed them to call this a Christian nation. Check out this quote from Jefferson,

“The legitimate powers of government extend to such acts only as are injurious to others. But it does me no injury for my neighbour to say there are twenty gods, or no god. It neither picks my pocket nor breaks my leg.”

And Alexander Hamilton, in describing the role of the President in religious duties and how they differ from the then King of England:

"The one has no particle of spiritual jurisdiction; the other is the supreme head and governor of the national church!"

But beyond their political beliefs, their religious beliefs would not have let them call this a Christian nation. Heck, the Constitution was attacked by people who represented Christianity shortly after it was ratified because of a LACK of references to God.

Rev. John M. Mason was extremely offended at the omission, and made a prediction:

"...overturn from its foundations the fabric we have been rearing and crush us to atoms in the wreck.”

Others ministers went on to say things like the lack of references to God would be the destruction of our nation, etc etc. Heck, around the civil war they tried FORCEFULLY to add religious references to the Constitution. They failed. Go on look it up, they were the original NRA. No seriously, they were called the NRA. The National Reform Association.
Fact is, it's a secular document that affords equal rights to those of all religions.

WASHINGTON — From states across the country, Americans have filed petitions on the White House website seeking to secede from the union and form new state governments.
While most of the petitions come from states that supported Republican Mitt Romney in the election, a few swing states and even the deep-blue Northeast are represented.
States from which petitions have been filed include Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Oregon, South Carolina, Tennessee and Texas.
“We petition the Obama Administration to peacefully grant the State of Alabama to withdraw from the United States of America and create its own new government,” reads the Alabama petition. Most of the petitions that have been filed so far cite the Declaration of Independence, which states in part:“Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, that whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or abolish it, and institute new Government.”
Most of the petitions have a few thousand signatures; many signers appear to be from other states. Under the “We the People” program, launched last year, the White House will respond to any petition that receives 25,000 or more signatures within 30 days. Anyone over age 13 can create a petition. Previous popular petitions demanded the White House beer recipe (granted) and the legalization of marijuana (denied).
The petitions from Louisiana and Texas are approaching the threshold for a response. They were the first two states represented, followed by Alabama.
Texas Gov. Rick Perry, R, raised the idea of secession back in 2009, but he has since made clear that he has no interest in it.

Then leave, nobody is making you stay. I hear there is a wonderful country with no social programs, unlimited capitalism, and a hard working person can literally take whatever they feel they have coming to them. It is a wonderland of rational self interest and libertarian ideals!
