brewsters has the cheapest drinks in hopkinsville. dollar beer =less classier crowd. I have been to alot of the bars in hopkinsville and it seems to me you have the same crowd at most of the bars..I go to clarksville and nashville also and the price of a drink is outrageous compared to what you pay here..unfortunately we live in hopkinsville people aka little chicago ..not beverly hills...class isn't something you find much in this town..I seriously doubt the owner can stop people at the door and refuse them service because they look like a skank or junkie. Give the guy a chance before you knock it.
there Is a lot of truth to what you said. Im not asking for Beverly Hills, I would just like to go somewhere In Hopkinsville where I wont have some crack head drooling over my shoulder mumbling things I cant even understand. or go to the bathroom to take a whiz and not have to hop over puke or hold my breath. and yes contrary to popular belief you can refuse service to anyone you want for any reason. all you have to do is ask them to leave and give them no reason but...."sorry we are full tonight please go somewhere else, this Is private property" robert used to keep the black people out by charging them a cover when there was no cover. so at least then he knew the people that were coming in were paying more than others and were serious about wanting to have a good time. and please dont tell me he didnt because ive stood at that door countless times and watched It happen.

Jesus-f*****g-Christ. if you guys have such a problem with my bar then don't f*****g come. I'll get other business. if you have a problem paying a $5 cover when I'm practically giving away my beer then go somewhere else. I don't need you. Bitch, bitch, bitch, bitch, bitch. that's all I'm reading on here. But the the people that actually come out to my bar, and see the changes that are being made, actually have a good time and enjoy themselves. We had a blackout a few nights ago and people still stayed, with no power, to listen to my band and drink my liquor. So ask some people that actually get out of their houses and go do things, instead of sit on the internet talking shit. I don't see any of you trying to change things in this town. You miserable impertinent little shits.
Giving beers away? I think not. You have dollar beer night one night and the rest of the time Its full price. but what do you honestly pay per beer? Im assuming the numbers are a bit higher from when i owned a bar many years ago, so id be genrous In saying you pay fourt-five cents a beer. even on dollar beer night your doubling your money. and brewsters isnt the cheapest place in town to buy drinks....the eagles club Is and that is why i got there. i dont have to deal with half of the crap than the public bars and they take care of their patrons by not letting cops camp out outside the exits and pull people over left and right. i will give you one thing, you made a great move by getting junction 41 to play there on friday....great band and they have loyal fans who know how to have a good fun time without embarrassing themselves.

Too bad there wasn't enough people there to actually pay for the band. Yes, the band is decent, but no one buying drinks or dancing. When people are sitting at tables it would be nice to have a waitress actually take a drink order. People shouldn't have to go to the bar to get their own drinks. Fire your waitresses and hire semi-decent ones.

I go to the Eagles Club too. I like the atmosphere, and the crowd is older and have self control..... most of the time.

Good luck to the new owner, I hope you do well. Problem is, most of Roberts bars are used up by the time he leaves, the crowd is so intangled into the club, you cannot get rid of the label that has been put on the place.

A private club like the Eagles doesnt have the problems that non private clubs have, such as underage drinking, constant fights, etc. etc.

Actually at "Roberts" bar (Robert was not the owner, his girlfriend was) there was a cover charge, but it was never inforced-they picked and choose who would pay a cover and who didn't. I have been there numerous times and never paid a cover. I went there last night since the owner has took over and I did not have cover then either but was offered a 20$ "drink or drown" armband, that only applied to beer. The only thing I would complain about is the woman's bathroom is still a hot mess! We had a great time, loved the music, and the crowd has changed-for the better! Good luck to you Garrett!

If you are going to tell a story then get your facts straight. It was not Roberts girlfriend who owned the bar...it was his wife!!! So, you must have not know him well enough to talk such garbage out of your mouth!!!

I don't know what the owner pays for beer/liquor, but the bottom line is the guy is in business to make money, not compete with private clubs to have the cheapest drinks. And comparing a public bar to a private club is comparing apples to oranges - anyone that is a member of a private club (like the Eagles, VFW, American Legion, etc.) knows the drink prices are cheaper; for some members, that's the main reason they join! This businss has been open for what?...just about a month now? I'd say the owner has done a good job at trying to turn things around, and you can't expect it to be 'perfect' in a month. Like the man said, if you don't like it, don't come. I believe he has even told people to come say hello to him and that he welcomes suggestions for improving the bar.

Don't worry about putting the beer in a cooler just leave it sitting out. It's so damn cold in there it will ice itself down. Turn some freaking heat on dude or get some better looking bartenders that will heat that place up. I won't be back until summertime and hope the air works.

Only complaint I have is the bartenders. There's a couple of cute ones I'd keep but the rest are bottom of the barrel trash.I don't even ask them for a drink. I go to a decent clean looking girl.
Hire trash=attract trash.
Oh and maybe you should check out a deal with a can company or offering a "drunk bus" type of thing. HPD preys on downtown which runs A LOT of potential customers away.
