According to the KNE March 2-3. The state is going after the maximum, which Paula Russell deserves. The question is, how her background of theft in Tennessee went undetected at the Planning Commission and at JSMC. One would think such searches would be of a national scale. If someone knew her background and many in our community did, then did someone hide it and recommend her to the McNeil Center regardless. The issue regarding her background checks are very suspicious and deserve a closer look by city council and the JSMC board. In light of this and recent events in the community, Hopkinsville needs a very good investigative reporter!

There was a darn good post started yesterday that brought up good, fair yes / no questions bout the situation. It was similar to the opinion in the New era . It raised the hair on somebody’s neck cause the post was deleted. Before it was deleted, enough people probably saw it for it eventually get to the JMSC board, president, employees and New era. If there is nothing to hide then JMSC should speak up. The silence implies guilt and as long as the silence remains so does the suspicion. There are too many disgruntled current and past employee to think that the questions regarding bias at JMSC will go away. The opinion in the New Era and the questions in Hoptown topic are valid and the community deserves an official response. If the board does not inquire bout this but finds later date that unethical or ilegal activity took place, then the board is as responsible as those calling the shots. At least the planning dept. was honest enough to admitt that they were stupid enough to only run a background check in Tennessee. JMSC board it is time for an honest answer from you. Was your staff that stupid too or is this a whole other ball of was?

You are correct on the fact that the planning dept was dumb but you are incorrect on where they ran the background check. they ran the report only in kentucky,

Aaron McNeil House stated, "We are very glad to see the prosecution and sentencing of its former director, Paula Russell, come to a close,”“The Administration Board agrees this has been quite a learning experience. As a result, new controls have been put into place, assuring the type of situation does not reoccur.” The unanswered questions are what JSMC did, did not do or will do different since they referred this thief to us with the highest recommendation?" JMSC your mistake or bad decision and recommendation cost us. You are accountable and should reimburse us our loss! JMSC Board members if there is the slightest ethical make up in you, then you should seek answers from the staff.

Man that's just what kind of society we live in now, everybody stealing, selling, and hustling just to make ends meet. All the people that's posting on here have boken the law maybe haven't got caught but they have done something. Its like the wild wild west in this mother F.

There are very conservative members and business people on the JMSC board. If they are presented valid concerns in the right format I am certain they will pursue answers. If it turns out thing where not above par they cannot justify remaining on the Board. No one especailly the Chair, Co-Chair or CEO wants a mistake or unethical behaior on their watch to go untended. It Could lead to all type of legal action. If the board gives it some thought and they will any day now, expect them to analyze everything carefully. Hopefully they will find dots over all of the Is and crosses through all of the Ts. As long as this isuse is avoided the questions will linger.

JMSC is a workplace full of Ims. That is nepotism, cronyism and favoritism. For the right person management will create a job, hire the unqualified or put in a fix. Russell is certainly a good example and there may be guilt in HR but that is not the only place including the CEO. It is the norm at JMSC.
