Was a tough loss but Hwyworth did not use excuses and showed class. Good season and a bright Hoptown Tigers future.

the refs did seem to favor Madison.. they won game at foul line with almost half their points from foul shots..29 made free throws. unreal free throw percentage only missing 4.. they get credit for the amazing foul shooting but they seemed to get some ticky tack calls.

Wondered how long it would take to blame the loss on the refs.
Not very long.

It's just a game. Some people in this community have not emotionally or intellectually developed much since high school. I can see being excited if you worked there, went to school there, or even have kids there. But the rest who live vicariously through a sports team from a school you didn't even pick to go to and haven't been to in years of decades are just fairly sad.

Thankfully by your judgement, I qualify by all three of your options. However, I have more of a problem with a community that thinks they are too good to support their youth no matter what (lawful and decent) activity they are involved in. This community is all talk when it comes to support and it sounds like you may be the leader of the group.

Did Madison Central get a couple calls that were ticky tacky? Yeah. But, do did Hoptown. It happens. Refs will always get heat. But where the difference came down to was down the stretch. Hoptown lost some of their intensity, Madison Central increased theirs. MC had some big shots fall, and Hoptown got a little stingy with the ball on a couple fast breaks and posessions that took points off the board. Its not big deal. They still made a great run. Anyone of the last 4 teams could have cut down the nets, It was that close. The ball just bounced MC's way.

true.. hoptown got cold and a bit wreckless when they had the big lead..watching hoptown seemed the more talented team..just didn't finish. I did not think the play hoptown called in last minite with chance to take lead. down 1 was very good..clearing the lane and letting majors go 1 on 1..think a set play with last shot around 5 secs with everyone crashing boards could been wiser.. but oh well;; always 2nd guessing in a close loss.

same old same old go to state and win takes a lot of luck no matter how good you are but what make me mad about teams around here is we go up and get beat on the foul line over and over its sad. you got to pull those guys back and stop fouling then get down the floor and be ready to get fouled and hit the shots thats the way the game is played at state learn that coach and hoptown will have a great team the next two years learn it not and you will be sent home without a state title to show for your talent.

Yes I am the secret ringleader of the conspiracy to destroy extracurricular activities! BWAHAHAHA!(Maybe I need to meet up with that lesbian on TV in the track suits to help me destroy your choirs, bands and glee clubs too?!?!)Or perhaps I am someone with no emotional or professional attachment to your school who is embarrassed to see how many adults attach themselves to the achievements of children when they gave or did nothing to make it happen simply because they attended classes there years ago based on district lines and no other reason.
But hey, I get it. You guys get miffed when I criticize the hypocrisy of any religion and basketball is the largest and most worshiped religion in the whole damned state.
I probably should be ashamed of not supporting lawful and decent activities like basketball. They often lead to rewarding lawful and decent lives. As proven by the spotless criminal records of many college and pro basketball players.

You are correct, there are many good people in professional sports along with some bad apples. How is that different then any other profession? Our local schools are a direct reflection of our community and even each of us o a certain degree. Winning breeds winning whether it is in the classroom or the court.

Justify it however you want, it does not invalidate my opinion or that of the majority of people who silently put up with your strange devotion to adolescents playing sports in you stead.

oh please.. im sure most all the folks rooting for hoptown tigers in sports attended the school at one time.. or have children attending. or just maybe pull for the hometown team.. should not disturb anyone. I don't understand why that ''annoys'' anyone.. tens of millions enjoy sporting events of all kinds world wide..if it bothers u don't go and don't read about them here.

By your thought process, am I to assume that you do not watch or support any activity that you are not directly involved. For example, I assume that you probably don't go to concerts of any type because youlikely aren't on stage ( who knows u may be).

Disregard Anonymouse's comments. He's just a lonely old fool, and his kids were the losers you warned your kids to stay away from.

Now that's funny cchs2011. Hoptown will never "WHEN" state like when we won it in 2011 bam. You obviously received a wonderful "edumacation" at that school. BAM, you're an illiterate idiot. Thanks for making my HS look like they can't educate anyone.

Crazy thing to remember

It took Stovall until his 6th state tournament to make the final 4. And if I'm not mistaken it took him until his 5th state tournament to win a game. Stovall is probably the best coach this area has seen besides Dunbar so take the following into consideration;

Anyone questioning Haworth or his preparedness should realize he has a two consecutive 30 win seasons in his 2nd and 3rd years and went 16-7 in his first year with a team that was young and inexperienced.

A final 4 in year 3 with a lot of talent returning and a lot of talent coming up in the Freshman jV and middle school teams, looks like if Haworth stays that Hoptown will bring a ring home and have a lot more trips to Rupp Arena during his tenure.
