It's rediculous. I work in the front office of a
School and I have not once seen Mrs. Gemmill, Mrs. Morris, Mrs. Hartline, Mrs. Wilcox, Mrs. Hancock, or any of the cabinet in our building. Last year at least Janie, Rim, or Brady showed up on the regular. Good use of tax payers money right. The only board employees I've seen is Ruth Lynch and Patty Grable in our building. Anyways keep paying their high salaries and let them fire and do as they please. They really have a thumb on the system.

CCMS, NDMS, MLK, and Indian Hills score much lower than other schools. Fix the problem.

That's right! Find away to reduce the amount of kids in those schools that qualify for free/reduced lunches! There's your problem that exists in those 4 schools more so than any of the others...

The whole school
System is failing our children. All they care about is the kprep testing. These kids are not learning the basics, it's all about numbers to them. It's about which school is going to look the best as far as numbers go. It's not about every student every day. It has become a business. They throw bones out there for our kids to sell stuff for the school. They want to raise money, but how many of the children benefit from this? They want to increase time off from school. Which they do not need to do to the children. This system is a joke. And the leaders are to blame.

The system works just fine for the white kids. They care. It's the Blacks that bring the whole system down. Put them all on a boat and send their subhuman asses back to Africa where they belong. They can take the head-coon in the white house with them.

Until parents start taking some responsibility for their children's education and not leaving both education and parenting to the teachers, nothing will change. Bring n new ppl every year, nothing will change. It's not a school's problem, administrator's problem, or superintendent's problem-- It's the community's responsibility. Unless people here start valuing education, we will always have low performing schools.

Want me back? They will not fire a black as they are scared of John Banks. I hear she is wanting to get her boyfriend who is packing a 14 inch pipe a job here before they make it official. I wonder if they are living together as morals are not very high on her list. Glad she is making a lot of money as her face would stop a clock!
Check your facts. She married in December. Her husband works in Dawson Springs.

CCMS's principal told her staff on Wed that she was forced to resign. Mrs. Upton is a strong leader at a tough school. I guess the higher ups took the easy route again on this low performing school. I wonder how much effort was put in by central office to improve this school this year....
Maybe just maybe its not the school, teachers, staff and for sure not the new multi milion dollar school buildings. Could it be the students. Yes its the students, why is HHS and HMS doing fine and making the grades but not CCMS or CCHS. I feel sorry for all the students that are forced to attend CCHS and CCMS. Maybe just maybe CC schools would be better if the parents and kids could decide which school their kids go to and if they dont like any of the public schools the the Board of Edu can pay up to the amount of $ that was gonna be spent to sens the kids to one of the local private school. Yep think about how much better our school would be if the school board didnt have all the power. Also the school teachers should be given the authroity to remove a disrupted kid from the class room permanently. Then these bad ass kids become the problem of the principal and not teachers who came to teach or students that came to learn. I wonder how the the new sup would like it if she had to deal with bad kids that dont want to learn.

Just me more parents care than it seems like but most feel helpless, i have tried to have kids remove from the class that disrupt the learning process daily.

Now you hit the nail on the head. Class rooms should be set up to teach kids around the same learning ability. There not though they are set up to balance out failing students with high achieving students so it look like the school is making the grade. Well there are to many white parents that care so they wont be letting their white kids be bussed over to county. Hell i know ppl that move when their kids start school or middle high just so their kids dont have to attend MLK, CCMS or CCHS

Whoaaaaa.....it literally makes me sick to hear you blame a race!!!!......IT is OUR society....which starts out with children not having a good homelife, little to no consequences for doing wrong, and many other factors weigh in to all the issues ....The teachers Im sure spend the majority of their day...trying to keep order in their classrooms....

I know first hand Mrs. Upton took every child and their education to heart. She had inept teachers that she could not get replaced. She was able to weed out a few but not as many as she wanted. She could have fired them but could not find quality teachers to replace them. We interviewed many!!!! Upton is not the problem, it's parents and lack of educators wanting to work in this school system.

Chicago styled politics is running the school system and Hopkinsville. As long as the liberal Democrats control this area, the children will suffer greatly! Get the NAACP out of politics in Hopkinsville and things WILL get better!
