I'm sure the mother of this little girl feels equally bad if not worse then what the father feels. While I think she should have had a seatbelt on the child I also think that people need to leave her alone. She just lost her baby. Have a heart people.

It is sad, but that poor angel never should have lost her life due to her mother's negligence.

The mom was getting the hell beat out of her while she was driving. So that is what caused the wreck. As for going to jail????? She has a dead child that she will never kiss, hold or see her get grown. She is a GREAT mom and I stand behind her. Go lock up the AMISH their kids die everyday for drowning, ran over by tractors and head smashed in by their horse. Fight that and pray for the family.

we do have hearts. Hearts for the little girl who lost her life by no choice of hers. We also have something called laws, which the mother chose not to obey. Yes,the mother is going through a lot of heartache. And so is her father. But if it is proven she didn't have her restrained, she should face the penalties.

If the mom was getting the hell beat out of her, in front of her child, what does that tell you? And if she was why didn't they arrest the guy? And what does that have to do with her not putting her child in a booster seat????? NOTHING!!!!!!!!

She should go to prison for the rest of her life so she can think about what she did. How do you not put ur child in any type of restraint ESPECIALLY with icy roads. How irresponsible can a person be? Its murder no matter how u look at it. People are defending the mother go on support a murderer. i guess u support the guy that walked in and shot up the elementary school in Conn. I have children and a 4 yr grandchild and though i may not use my seatbelt most of the time none of them under ANY circumstances have never been buckled in a child safe restraint. Their life is too precious to me. Like what someone else posted what does her getting beat up have anything at all with her restraining that poor child. Now a childs life is gone because of a unfit mother not being a responsible mother. THERE IS NO EXCUSE !!!! BUCKLE UP UR CHILDREN !!!!
just saying

I do have a heart as do I have 2 daughters and a 4 year old granddaughter. No I am not perfect, and yes I have made mistakes in life just like anyone else, but ill tell u 1 mistake I have never made. I have never ever not put my children or my grandaughter in a carseat. That is the first thing a parent should do before you even put yourself in the car or start it is make sure that your children a buckled up safe and secure. I also agree that I do not see what being beaten up while driving has to do with not put a child in a carseat considering this is a practice that should be done before you ever begin driving.and I also do not know the family or all the details of this accident, but I do know what the law is about child safety seats. I do feel bad for the entire family even the mother because she will be reminded of her bad choice for the rest of her life. So before you people call others heartless or accuse people of not having children and cursing at everyone maybe you should be praying for this poor little girl who lost her life because of something that could have been prevented. As I said I am a mother and I am not perfect, but where my kids are concerned I am very ocd and overprotective and I just can't understand why something so senseless has to happen to an innocent child before people wake up and do the right things where there childs welfare is concerned?I will keep this little girl in my thoughts and prayers, because I cannot immagine what my life would be like without my girls, I love them dearly. And for those of you that have children big or small tell them you love them and hug them as much as you can!
just nosey

Well if she didn't intend to hurt the child then its not Murder but maybe reckless homicide. And also whos to say the baby wasn't strapped in and the wreck caused her to be ejected because of faulty equipment,it happens all the time!!So you all should put yourself in her shoes and no I don't know her or the dad but I know most moms would lay down and die for their babies,so its got to be the worse feeling you have to experience.I know alot of people are mad at her but the Lord knows if she really didn't care about her or if it was just a accident caused by carelessness.Ill pray for the whole family and be strong, shes in a better place now!!

it was her mother, the mothers boyfriend and the small child that was in the car I sure hope the mother was not getting beat up cause If I was getting beat up while driving down the road you best believe the person would be out of my car walking home I would not care how could it was or anything cause I know as a driver it's my responsibility to keep everyone in my car safe and also what was they doing near Martin Luther school? When they live on the other side of town? Everyone knew the roads were going to be ice why didn't she just take a few minutes to put the child in a car seat and a seat belt? It don't take but three minutes to Hear a click from a seat belt that could have saved the child's life and then no one would be on her talking about how much of a bad mother she is
