Well I am about to leave to go catch my plane. I got really good seats for the Inauguration tomorrow from and will be spending the next two days enjoying the wonders of Washington DC. It will be so cool to see where freedom and our great nation is run. But the best thing will of course be seeing President Obama take his oath of office to continue doing the work we the people elected him to do! Have fun while I am gone guys and try not to be too jealous, okay?

You will be happy to know you will be very safe. DC has some of the toughest gun control laws in the country. We know you are in favor of stricter gun laws, so you should feel safe and right at home.

Violent crime in D.C. surges in 2012

Violent crime so far this year in the District has spiked sharply — a 40 percent increase that includes twice as many robberies at gunpoint than at this time last year.

The biggest increase was in the 1st District, which includes Capitol Hill, where violent crime jumped by 69 percent, with 110 incidents reported compared with 65 at this point last year. The highest increase was in the 7th District, east of the Anacostia River, where 181 were reported, up 43 percent from the 127 incidents recorded at this point in 2011.

The 2nd District, which includes upper Northwest, reported the smallest increase in violent crime, at 4 percent. But of the 53 violent crimes reported there, 37 were robberies. A series of potentially related robberies in several of the affluent neighborhoods there has raised concern among residents, prompting a community meeting scheduled by D.C. Council member Mary M. Cheh for Thursday.

"People are beginning to not feel safe," Ms. Cheh, Ward 3 Democrat, said last week after a news conference at 2nd District headquarters to discuss the increase in robberies.

well you have a real good time. While you are there could you please tell Obama to take his job seriously this time cux we the people are sick of him making his own rules up as he goes along. We can't wait four more years to kick his butt out of office then get a good one in there to fix all his crap.

First let me say it was pretty cool to get to go. I have some friends in Ohio who were not able to go due to health issues and they passed along a wonderful gift. It was cold out there! Somebody at my work even claimed they saw me on CBS in the crowd but I think they were yanking my chain. I hadn't been to DC in years and never when there was a huge crowd. It was really surreal to see how much outside the "beltway" has changed, but the core of DC pretty much the same.
It was very exciting but honestly I had more fun on Tuesday when we could actually walk around and see the sights.
I got to say, no matter what your affiliation or party or leanings politically, you need to visit the Capitol at least once in your lifetime. It gives you a real sense of awe about how much better we have it with our system than a vast majority of the world and seeing where most of that work happens really drives it home.
So yeah, I am in a good mood right now and I don't think anything on here is going to get me down too much, but I know someone is going to try, right?

I've been meaning to go for awhile now, but just haven't taken the few opportunities I have had. Had a few connecting flights through Dulles but never had the time to leave the airport and explore, maybe one day I'll get to go see it all.
Any Who, glad you had a good experience.
