JSMC is trying very hard to shake the reputation of being the place to go to die. I guess their board of directors feel that putting up pretty pictures, buying a surgical robot, and spending a fortune on advertising will accomplish this. The truth is they worry a lot about these kind of things while they treat their staff like crap. Can you imagine going three years and not being able to get approval for a vacation day?

Well nurses cannot get a vacation even though they have four weeks coming to them. One of my friends had to cash his in last year just because he could not ever get any approved. When you cash it in you only get 75 percent of its value. All of the floors are so short staffed that everyone is always stressed out. Long 12 hour shifts, high stress, no vacation, and management doesn't give a crap. Does this answer your question ?

The robot in the er does collect dust. Its not the same type of robot. The er robot is on loan from u of l. Its only used for neurological exams when sending a pt to Louisville.

Well jsmc is non profit so I don't think profit is the motivation here, but they are probably trying to break even. This Obama health care sucks. And yes they can hire qualified staff.

It's good to know JSMC can hire qualified staff. Is there anything the community of Hopkinsville can do to get JSMC management to treat the staff better?

Oh somebody doesn't like their job. Pink streak and big nose boy? "spreading gossip, stirring up drama" Ok, I find this statement ironic. What do you call this post? Can you say spreading gossip and stirring up drama. If patients are coming up to you complaining of staff talking about their personal lives then do something about this issue. Gets some balls. Don't anonymously go on a public form and gossip. If a patient can focus on what the stafF is saying then maybe they don't have a true emergency. Ask anybody who had a life threatening illness if they can tell you what the staff was discussing out at the desk.
Maybe not the best way to go about it, but my initial though was that if people could see how obvious their actions are then they might tone it down some.
And not all emergencies are life threatening. If someone is sitting in their room waiting to be discharged after getting seen for a broken leg, they shouldn't have to listen to profinity filled language from the nurses about how shitty certain patients, doctors and nurses are.
Staff are the first ones to comlain about their bosses, or how the community perceives them, but they do absolutely nothing to change it.

New Look, New Machines!! What good is allthat when you have the same useless people running & workingin this place.Just a more exspensive way to kill more people.
Nurses there are so stupid an rude as hell. Doctors are worhtless.
I know personally for years now, several people I know would've died if it wasn't for them going else where (Nashville).
You senseless dreebs don't send people home when their blood pressure is higher than hell, an a fever so high, they don't know who or where they are....stupidity!!!
First hopsital I've ever seen that knows nothing about a colonostophy bag, or an intensive care unit that hasn't a clue how feeding tube works!!
Itsbad when a non- medical person has to tell you how to hook it up, what time, an how to flush the lines.....an still can't do it. Yes the nurses are rude as hell there, and most of the so called Drs.
The reason they don't go elewhere is because wouldn't nobody hire their rude asses!!! I wouldn't take my dog there!!! I say clean house an start over!!!

An as for the low pay for nurses, thats because you aren't worth what you already getting paid!!

Home health nurses have more sense than the hospital nurses in this town, an a whole lot more polite too!!

When a person tells you what the problem is when coming to the ER, try listening!! you might find out what the problem is, its pitiful!!!

You know its pretty bad here when you have to go else where an they make you take all test over, because they WILL NOT except any test results from Jeannie Stuart, that there is enough to convince me, something isn't right.

I have not a clue who you are attempting to degrade but your post screams I am an emotionally insecure individual. I am sure you get some type of perverted satisfaction from being a bully. Did your mother not give you enough love and attention as a child? If you are going to use ebonics then please use the proper grammatical verb tense. It allows for others to easily understand your message.

That cut deep, to the bone. All them big words King, I don't understand what you're saying. It's not an attempt at degrading, they were actually degrading remarks, and while all opinions, they are damn near facts. And if you work here at the ER then you know exactly who I am talking about.

Screw that. I wouldn't want a robot operating on me, just another thing to make the human race even lazier. If you're a surgeon then do your damn job. They wonder why there so many overweight people nowadays, cause they keep making things easier and lazier. I wouldn't trust a robot working on me, I would feel uncomfortable with a professional human working on me! Jennie Stuart is terrible, a lot of rude nurses working in the ER. I don't understand why you're in a profession that involves contact with people if you're rude and hateful. Screw that hospital.

Are you aware that the surgeon still performs the surgeries even when the case involves the robot?? The surgeon sits instead of stands, so if you call that lazy, then sure. The precision that the machine allows, not to mention the potential for fewer incision sites and less post-operative pain, are the big selling points. When surgeons do things laparoscopically, they can do really neat things with only three or so incisions, but they lack the curving motion of their wrists. With the robot arms in place, each of their hand motions is possible. Whether or not the hospital should have bought it is a whole other issue...but calling surgeons lazy when they're still doing their job, and perhaps doing it better, is really just a bit ridiculous.

Did anyone see the news program last week, dateline? These robots are messing people up, some pretty bad. I think I'd do a lot of research before letting one of them operate on me, it also adds about 3000.00 dollars to the bill. Do you think ins, companies are gonna cover that? I really doubt it.
