"Jesus" is trying to convince us that wallowing in greed and consumerism will make us better people and that no secular person (or non Christian in general) appreciates holiday traditions (that are mostly Pagan, not even Christian) even if they do not follow the beliefs?
Really, this isn't children's Sunday School, we are all smart enough to know that EVERYONE, even Christians, pick and choose the traditions and belief they want to celebrate. Even if it seems opposed to their faith or lack thereof.
