From the article:

"The Met Council, for example, plans to award $8 million in grants this year from its Transit-Oriented Development Fund, has its Corridor of Opportunity program in place, and recently hired a handful of staff to promote development along the future Southwest LRT line."
.
.
.
"Corridors of Opportunity manager Allison Bell said the study not only outlines the complexities that developers and businesses face around transit, but also showed a strong interest among some of them."

In 2011, Ms. Bell was a Met Council employee (Planning Analyst) making over $70K per year.

In 2012, as Minnesotans saw their personal incomes plummeting, and their taxes rising by double digit amounts, the Met Council gave this young lady a promotion to the position of Manager of Transit Oriented Development.

She also got a 15% pay raise to $81,098 per year.

Do we really need to pay someone over $80K per year to give away money that has been confiscated from citizens by an unelected panel of government bureaucrats?

Wonder if Ms. Bell is any relation to Peter Bell - ex met council chairman?

Social engineering was supposedly, not of any interest to him.

"...Hennepin County Commissioner Gail Dorfman says she thought Bell(Peter) "was incredibly skillful in doing the job of chair and being a champion of LRT (light-rail transit) and seeing these projects through."
