You see, you're asking for something special. I can't marry another man either. Same rights. All I'm saying is, if you want more people, like me, to come around to your way of thinking, then tell the truth.
that argument failed before you were even told to parrot it.

it was used when people said everyone had the same right ot marry someone of the same race. the supreme court didn't buy it then, they will not now. nor would any rational person not blocked by bigotry and prejudice....

You have the same rights as I do. You want a special right, just for you ho:mos
You should also check your reality as regularly as you do your oil in your truck. Once every other month or so ought to do it.

I consider a bigot to be anyone that holds opinions based on inaccurate or incomplete information and that refuses to consider that their opinion might be wrong.

It's pretty simple, actually.

And certainly, by definition, anyone that opposes the equal civil rights of their fellow citizens for reasons that they cannot supply and/or support, is a bigot.

Well, your example doesn't even rise as high as bigotry. Your example is just plain stupid.

There's no such thing as "condoning" or "endorsing" homosexuality. No one seeks or wants your opinion or your approval of it. Nothing is going to change depending on your approval.

Gay people will continue to exist and form loving relationships and have loving and stable families regardless of whether you like it or not.

Your discomfort or lack of education on an issue doesn't make you a bigot. Your refusal to learn is what makes you a bigot. And rightly so, if that's the case.

I'm not saying I would be denied the special rights you're trying to get, I'm says they're equal right now. You are asking for something special that you want because you can't do it now. Nether can I do it either. If you're going after something, just say it like it really is.
You don't understand what the definition of "special right" is, do you??

If you did, you'd realize that it's currently *straight* couples that enjoy the *special right* of marrying and having that marriage recognized everywhere. Gay couples do not, therefore, the "special" or additional right already belongs to straight couples.

So, by all means, please do explain how gay couples being treated equally with straight couples somehow elevates their civil rights to be *higher* than the "special rights" that straight couples already enjoy.

I LOVE how your type thinks it's cute and adorable when you dance around this issue and pretend you don't understand that a gay man marrying a straight women is in NO WAY equal to a straight man marrying a straight woman.

What you don't realize, of course, is that for all your hubris about "the sanctity of God given marriage" and "matrimonial bliss", your argument is that the ability to love, honor, and cherish the person your marrying doesn't matter at all. As long as it's one penis-owner marrying one vag-owner, it's all good.

Yet you idiots and your silly little "we ALREADY HAVE equal rights--*I* can't marry a man, EITHER!!! HA-ha!!!" bullshit argument completely negate any meaning that marriage could ever have, doesn't it?

But, of course, you're too busy dancing around and being stupid to realize that, aren't you?

I think you just pretty much proved beyond the shadow of a doubt that you ARE, in fact, a bigot.

Congratulations!

Well said.

Ironically the people most upset about this are pew warmers who mostly want everyone else to live according to what their preacher says.

We get called all sorts of things with derogatory connotations. I've been on these boards for years and seldom see someone who opposes marriage equality call another anti gay poster for the vile things they post here.
