Is this clown for real? Why did he bring forth this program at an all white school like Mahtomedi and not an inner city school? I would be shocked if even 2% of that school had a minority student population. In addition, like any good Democrat, the solution is to increase taxes for another special interest project. Lastly, and most important, do any of these miserable career politicians make a single mention of finding and working on a solution to the record unemployment rate. These clowns running for office must be totally convinced that the voters of this state are so gullible and naive to believe in their false and empty promises. However, this state did put a comedian in the Senate so maybe Minnesota voters are that ignorant politically polarized.

I vote for a chimpanzee.A gregarious anthropoid ape (Pan troglodytes) of tropical Africa, having long dark hair and somewhat arboreal habits and exhibiting humanlike behavior and a high degree of intelligence. It is now considered vulnerable to extinction in the wild.

Steve Kelley is hardly a "tax and spend liberal". He was one of the most thoughtful and intellignet members of the Senate and was always a guy who followed his path.

To be fair, he would be a huge improvement over Mr. Pawlenty - the governor who almost single-handedly changed Minnesota from financially healthy into a financial basket case. The man is a screw-up! But, thanks to the fact that his party can only come up with the likes of Sarah Palin and Newt Gingrich to challenge him, he is actually being mentioned as a candidate for President! And you think that Barack Obama might be in over his head?

Mr Kelley certainly does not represent my views and I would certainly not vote for him. I would like to see reform vs expansion and do not beleive that increasing funding will fix problems within the education system. Further carbon taxes are more about tax revenue than environmental policy and I'm uncomfortable with the backhanded approach at environmental policy preferring a more thoughtfull approach to environmental policy. Lastly, I'm in the camp that would prefer to see reform of our healthcare system to address affordability vs simply extending the current system without meaninfull cost reforms (which, by the way, are not popular reforms in the public because nobody likes to hear that their behavior is part of the problem). I respectfully submit that this platform is more about gaining support via telling people what they want to hear than it is about developing a policy that will legitmately improve problems facing health care, education and the environment.

I'm sorry JimB, but anyone who considers the woes of MN to be the fault of a single politician (Governor Pawlenty in your case), doesn't hold credibility in my mind. I certainly don't begrudge anyone who disagree's with the Governor's ideology and platform, nor do I begrudge anyone who communicates thoughtfull dissent to an officials stance on a specific issue. Making a blanket statement in the manner that you have demonstrates a lack of objectivity and rigidness that is not condusive to a thoughtfull consideration of the issues. Further, if you see no problem with making Minnesota government even bigger by expanding an already massive under performing education system and who's environmental policy is rooted more in a need of funding his education expansion than it is about protecting the environment only serves to cement the perception that you lack credibility and objectivity in your political perceptons. Although I respect your right to an opinion and a voice to share it, I completely disagree with you.
