More of us responded to the story about the lost/found dog than about this unfortunate human...that's downright scary. I hope he's safe.

The priorities are mixed up. Dogs over humans.

I don't think it's scary people love and care about animals. The world needs more people like that. It's a good thing. Not scary.

More people responding to the story about the dog is not an example of priorities being mixed up or people caring more about dogs over humans. More people simply responded to that story than this one. This is a forum on a local news website. Nothing more. People care about people, people care about animals. Or at least some of us do.

I am glad that he is found.

I wonder if anyone has ever given serious consideration to a GPS system for Alzheimer's patients and the elderly who may be suffering from dementia. I think that every family should consider it.

I was reading that there is some sort of tracking device out there now. It was brought up in the story about the little autistic girl in GR who wandered away. The article said her family was saving up for a tracking device for her. But I wonder how far it tracks? It might be worth looking into. I am glad to hear that this gentleman was found safe and sound. I am a nurse and work with Alzheimer's patients daily and it is so frustrating for the families to watch their loved ones lose their memories! Happy to hear the safe return!

If the family reads this, the product is called Care Track and it can cost up to $2,000.00 they say. It is run by radio frequencies somehow. Just FYI.

Stop saying you're praying for him. Nobody believes you. Sure, we're all glad the old geezer was found, but come on.

"Alzheimers Disease" itself isn't easy to diagnose. There are alot of different brain disorders which can cause confusion. And by confusion, it can be slight or severe. A lot of people don't realize just how many people are out there living on their own who may have "sundowners"...or just nighttime disorientation. I see so much of it at the hospital because our unit gets many of these folks. It sounds like this will probably be the "straw that breaks the camel's back" as far as this poor gentleman driving. It's not just older folks who can be confused. I see 50 year olds who shouldn't be out there driving too. The important thing is this man was found alive.

Uh, he "may be", I'd have to say he is ALREADY for certain, you don't just end up in fricken Detroit "filth city" from driving from Alamo to a family members homestead to visit...I certainly hope they take his drivers license away and sell his car, he shouldn't be behind the wheel any more and that's apparent. Can't believe the dopey family didn't realize he was a danger to be driving any longer, good grief, he could have killed some innocent person or family!
Scott, Seriously if you can't make a post without name calling especially when someone is hurt or missing or even sick, them maybe you should keep your thoughts to yourself!!!

You come on! You don't think people say prayers for these families as they are reading these stories? People actually do!

Yes, we're glad this gentleman was found, and you are going to be an old geezer some day, too. I just hope that you have someone around to help take care of and worry about you.

Scott is obviously unhappy, angry, lonely(possibly because he is unhappy and angry) and just can't seem to find anything good to say about anything. I've read his posts on other stories and they are all ignorant, angry, icky posts. Maybe we should start a thread on how Scott can find some meaning in life.
