The Hopewell Police Volunteers are looking for a few new members. You may have seen us doing traffic control, operating Hopewell's mobile command center, assisting with funeral escorts, or on patrol during local events. We also assist at the Crater Justice Academy with new police recruits and work with digital fingerprinting. Our only requirements are that you be at least 21 years old, have a good DMV record, must be able to pass a background investigation, and be willing to work at least 8 hours a month. We provide uniform shirts, caps, jackets, and other safety equipment at no cost. There is no cost to join and no dues. To obtaiin an application go to hopewellva.gov . On that page you will find a link for the Police Department and under that link you will find "Volunteers." At the bottom of the Volunteers page you will find an online application to print. When it is completed please leave it at the Hopewell Police Department marked "ATTN: Det. R. Wade." This is an opportunity to meet people, learn new skills, and to help the City of Hopewell.
