Schori sees this as "change and progress." I assume that a male bishop would have been "the same old" and "a step backwards."

One would hope the Goff's goal would be to preach God's word to all who will listen. I assume she will address Latinos and Asians because reaching out to Caucasians would not be "change and progress."

One would hope any minister of the Gospel would reach out to all people with the truths of God's Word. But alas, that is not part of the TEC agenda. Look for more losses. It is part of TEC's "Growth through Decline" evangelism effort. The local non-denominations and community churches thank you. Our local community church and TEC church is Community church has 900 in attendance (started three years ago) and TEC church has 20 in attendance on a good Sunday (started 60+ years ago). Most of the former TEC members are now at the Community church. We thank you for your liberalism!

The Lord said:

28 Later, I will give my Spirit
to everyone.
Your sons and daughters
will prophesy.
Your old men
will have dreams,
and your young men
will see visions.
29 In those days I will even give
my Spirit to my servants,
both men and women.

That is the prophecy of Joel repeated in Acts:

14 Then Peter stood up with the Eleven, raised his voice and addressed the crowd:“Fellow Jews and all of you who live in Jerusalem, let me explain this to you; listen carefully to what I say. 15 These people are not drunk, as you suppose. It’s only nine in the morning! 16 No, this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel:

17 “‘In the last days, God says,
I will pour out my Spirit on all people.
Your sons and daughters will prophesy,
your young men will see visions,
your old men will dream dreams.
18 Even on my servants, both men and women,
I will pour out my Spirit in those days,
and they will prophesy.
19 I will show wonders in the heavens above
and signs on the earth below,
blood and fire and billows of smoke.
20 The sun will be turned to darkness
and the moon to blood
before the coming of the great and glorious day of the Lord.
21 And everyone who calls
on the name of the Lord will be saved.’

So important the Spirit made sure we heard it more than once..........

"First female bishop is consecrated in the Episcopal Diocese." Exciting for the liberals. However, the rest of the world didn't notice. Those who did yawned. No doubt the approval of gay marriage about the same time was much more exciting news. The bottom line: Look for more TEC losses as part of its "Growth through decline" evangelism program. The community churches down the street thank you for sending good members our way.

Blah, blah, blah.

Baloney!

If your "community churches" down the street are filled with misogynistic hypocrites and homophobic bigots at the expense of our membership rolls, you can have 'em. You are welcome to 'em. You deserve 'em if that's what you want.

We've made it more than clear. We're in for the long haul as disciples of Christ Jesus, taking His Teachings seriously and conducting His ministry to spread the Good News.

Totally untrue.

From the article:

It is interesting that the first female bishop was consecrated by the first female presiding bishop in the long history of the Episcopal Church.

The Most Rev. Katharine Jefferts Schori, the first presiding bishop of the Episcopal Church consecrated Susan E. Goff as bishop suffragan of the Diocese of Virginia at historic St. Paul's Church in Richmond.

Do TOPIX editor have a responsibility to document factual information?

Here is the Anglican-Episcopal list of TEC and the Anglican Church of Canada.
