Ron Hayes Handyman Construction

Do your homework before hiring this man. He's under investigation by the Bowie County Sheriffs Office. The Texarkana Texas PD has several complaints on him. There's one civil suit filed for 'breach of contract' and Sherwin Williams (Texarkana) has a suit filed for 'default' against him. I plan on doing everything within my power to see him behind bars. He has taken advantage of a dear friend of mine. My friend is a senior citizen as well as a disabled vet. Friend's work was half done, at best, he was left without a bathtub in his home for a month. There are cracks in the flooring that you can see daylight through. This is only the tip of the iceberg.
Don't be fooled, his insurance was cancelled on 12/15/08 for non-payment (Cami Harvey Ins Agency-Texarkana). He is registered with the state of Texas. Texas Residential Construction Commission 1-877-651-8722 then press 4, is the place to call for the forms to file a complaint with that Commission. Mr. Hayes throws out his paperwork like he's something special, reels his prey in and rips them off.

This post was made on the Texarkana forum:
SW, not trying to get in your friends business, but if they live in the city and have been dealing with the PD, then they probably need to continue to deal with them. I'm just not sure that the S.O. would be able to go in and make a decision on something that the PD is looking in to or has looked in to. Like I said, there's no guarantee that the S.O. will be able to do anything, and to be perfectly honest, I have my doubts. Mr. Eason's case was closed a while back, they are just going to go back and make sure they didn't overlook anything.
I think that someone like Ron needs to be dealt with, unfortunately, he apparantely knows how the system works. He gets a contract, then goes in and does just enough work to say that he did something after which he either doesn't complete the job citing some dispute with the person who hired him or does some work (and I use that term loosely when talking about him) like you described he did to your friend, and then calls the job "complete".
It's hard to prove a criminal case on someone that operates like that, which is why most of the victims only relief is to file a civil suit.
It's a shame because a lot of his victim's don't have the time and or money to file a suit, but it's the system that we have to live with.

In 2009, My girlfriend and I commissioned and paid Mr.Ron Hayes to remodel her bathroom. He advised that the job would be completed in 7-days. He never: submitted an invoice, completed the job nor returned our calls. We contacted his sub-contracted plumber and learned that he had not been paid for his service. We contacted the BBB and learned that Ron Hayes construction company has a grade-F rating.
As the previous writer warned: "Do your homework."
