This YouTube video is superb:

ESC 1961 05 - Yugoslavia - Ljiljana Petrović - Neke Davne Zvezde

video by JoaoVelada

---It's now an all-time fave, right there with Michele Torr "Ce Soir Je T'Attendais" and Margo Eskens "Die Zeiger Der Uhr".

That's Liljana Petrovic in last post--the title comes out scrambled when posting on here for some reason.

Still don't know what this song is about (I don't know French), but it's one of the most gentle; very enjoyable:

Interesting. Unable to find the lyrics in order to translate, but a comment under one of the videos explains:

"....its a love song about Michael Mallory, a half-British, half-French soldier who went fighting in Ireland, leaving behind his wife."

Great shot when the camera focuses on her eyes.

Brought to mind the close up of Christine Chartrand's eyes in this video:

Similar technique--close-up of the eyes--is found in this ultra-charming video as well:

Identici Anna - Quando m'innamoro

(note how Anna Identici hams it up at the end of the video--funny!)

--too bad I don't have a YouTube channel anymore (shut it down a long time ago due to its being hacked/sabotaged)...would love to feature some of these similarities together on faves.

Just found another translation of the song above sung by Rachel (mallory)--it doesn't refer to a soldier leaving his wife to go fight in Ireland, but maybe that's the song's background. It's difficult to know, especially as that is simply a comment under one of the videos.

Found this one a little while back--still so few views on it, but it's a real gem (volume low though):

Thinking now the Rachel "Le Chant De Mallory" may be feminine-feminine (based on the lyric translation that comes up under one of the videos). Unable to know for sure. But just found a favorite video by Freddie Hubbard is now back on YouTube (after not coming up for awhile):

Freddie Hubbard Umbria, Italia 1978

Also, his 'First light' LP is hands down my favorite of any music anywhere; here's one of the songs from it, with an interesting photo somebody chose to go with the video:
