Anchorage man barred from leaving Alaska escapes into Canada, gets arrested

An Anchorage man with court orders not to leave Alaska overpowered U.S. officials at the Alaska Highway border crossing and evaded Canada's Royal Mounted Police for 120 miles in the Yukon on Tuesday before he was apprehended.

Yeah that part of the Alaska highway is pretty desolate. That's about the right distance for the RCMP to sit in Haines Junction (the next closest place after the border with stationed cops) and wait for him to roll into town seeing as he had no where else to go. It's unlikely that they chased him because all the major frost heeves along the stretch. That tid bit of info provided by: http://www.frozenalaska.com
