Isn't the COST OF LIVING... HIGH THERE???
Very high. Unless you have professional background to land you a job at $12 or better like health care, oil industry etc things are real expensive as we import everything by air and barge/container ship.

<quoted text>Be careful, Columbus landed in what is known as Haiti and the Dominican Republican in 1492. He made 4 separate voyages. You seem to think there was one and in 1492. Columbus did not arrive in America, in South America, until 1498. It appears as though you are having the fit, I am simply correcting historical errors which you are propagating.
What is your issue dude? You screw up your own information while jumping on others claiming their wrong/incorrect etc. I never said Columbus sailed once. I stated where historians say he LANDED first. You're the one that by passed his first voyage and sent him directly to South America.
Before you attempt to correct others, get your own info correct, it helps.

I'm born and raised in Alaska. I have to say that reading these comments, made me laugh. But anyways, it's great living in Alaska! It does get super cold up North but more South like Anchorage, is a little warmer. Alaska is beautiful! Everything from nature to people. You can do SO MANY things in Alaska! In small towns, people like to ride 4-wheeler's around, go hunting for caribou, moose, and more. People like to go fishing, even ice fishing, and going to the beach to look for old mammoth bones. People in Alaska are very in touch with their cultures. People in Alaska are very nice. Although, there are down sides living in Alaska. It gets dark at approximately, 9 months a year. That can cause people to get depressed. And there is A HIGH RANGE of teen pregnancies. And VERY VERY HIGH RATE OF SUICIDE! And it costs A LOT of money to live in Alaska.

Yes, you can ride a 4-wheeler in small towns. It's actually what most people have in the small towns and villages. That is how people travel.^_^ Many people love to ride 4-wheeler's everyday! BUT IT COSTS A LOT OF MONEY!

I visited your great beautiful state, I LOVED IT so much that I am now hunting a travel trailer to pull to Alaska and spend the whole summer there, I have a nursing degree, and if things get too pricey I will just work for a while. I found the people so friendly, and caring, I am so looing forward to being there next summer just to escape the heat of the south.

OH wow, not in Anchorage honey, you will get towed if you park in the wrong place camping and the state wants all your money to camp anywhere for hundreds of miles, lilve off the land? HA, you can only LOOK at the mountains, you , you can't even go in there. Drug infested police state . Corrupted. YOu would have to laive way out in nowwhere . To live off the land , So cold you have to stay indoors many months. To cold to even pump your own gas for two minutes without some kind of $70.00 high quality long underware, the cold goes right to the bone an you get sik of it.Then the city chops the ice onto the drive ways into businesses so that the bottem of your nice car gets wrecked on it. slip on the ice and break your neck , slip under your car if you don't wear cleates. Children do not get busses to school if they live withen a mile. THey ahve to walk to school in 0 degrees and forced to play out as well . Nice to look at though. OH, your neihgbor may call office of children's services on you if you do not smoke pot as they do and your kids play barefoot in the summer or their toy is in the way of the mail box .If they are withdrawing they are not in good moods. Otherwise, it is very beaughtiful. The scenery is breath taking , but don't let if fool you. A lot of drug addicts, if you do drugs you will fit right in and love it there. MArijuana friendly state. The more drug money into the state the better. That is what they like there.
minus the weather you just about described West Virginia lol, I don't think you can live anywhere in the us where there's no corruption or drug problems? Money rules your freedom here in the us?

I was up there June 2013 and it was VERY HOT! I know that's not the norm but I'm hoping for similar weather this June when I go back. I think the perfect weather we had spoiled me for future visits! No way can that happen again...or CAN it?? LOL

I was also talking to someone in Glennallen some time in January and he told me it was 50 degrees there that day! Again, unusual but I'm sure it was welcome.
