But they're not going to do anything about it are they? People in rural communities all over Vermilion county are going to keep riding golf carts and not getting in trouble for it. Meanwhile, people all over this county are doing everything from assault and battery to dealing meth and heroin to driving while they're trashed and nobody's doing anything about them either. If they do get caught, the charges either get dropped or they get lowered to basically nothing. These are real problems that are hurting alot of people, and these are what SHOULD be being handled by the police. However they are not, probably owing in part to people calling 911 because they saw their neighbor driving down their road in (gasp) a golf cart! They didnt legalize golf carts they passed an ordinance that said they would turn there heads if your braking the state laws.
No one said go looking for them. When the cops see them they should do some thing about it.
And for cross walks and kids on golf carts its a safety issue. If not lets take the ones out in Millford and Rossville and start halling are kids on the trunk of are cars. Next time read the whole post. "But my hat is of to the shop owners that are open and the ones that are closed. They do try to make it look better. In Hoopeston and Rossville."
Cops have better things to do...and so should you.
And yeah it's a safety issue...just like kids riding on bikes, but you still haven't told me why they're not required to wear helmets and pads? Why do I have to wear seat belts but people on motorcycles don't even have to wear a helmet? Probably because life isn't always fair. If you don't like it, bring it up at a City Council meeting.
By the way, I did read your whole post...it was just you being a jerk, knocking on my town, and whining because evidently you can't stand to see people having fun riding down your street. Then I told you that my town is expanding and actually doing something about vacant building. Which leads us to how I ended my post and what you failed to respond to.
What has the city of Hoopeston done lately? What are they doing about vacant structures? What new buildings or businesses are going up? And why are you so worried about other people on golf carts when your High School doesn't even have a crosswalk? Don't you think that's a more important safety issue?
