She didn't die, and she will not, and can't, remember a thing. Sad what happened to her, but she will be ok.

Keo Aiwohi, of Nanakuli. Son of a lady who works for our Mayor. This is sad too. Lady works hard for the City, but her son is a thief and an Ice Head.

Is this guy one of the group that has been mobbing women and others from Nanakuli to Waianae, robbing people at the laundramat? There are about seven of them, men and women, Snatching purses and such? If so, good riddance.

Those two punks are real scum for attacking an old lady. Hope some attacks someone they love and that they get their just desserts in prison.

This is yet another reason to allow private citizens to carry concealed weapons. Those who pass a stringent background check, writen exam and live fire test can get them, not anyone who just applies. The police cannot be there to protect you and this is a good example. The old lady could have easily been killed by those two punks. It's time to turn the tables on these crooks and allow people to be armed. Crime should go down since the crooks know they could get shot.

Aint there a right to bear arms ?We should never forget our rights to carry.I agree more people carried i think crime level would be down.

Everyone needs to remember that the families of these guys are not to blame. Ice has taken over, it makes one think they are invincible and untouchable. It even turns them against their own family, that is why they tend to hang with their own kind more and alienate themselves from family and real friends that care. No community is immuned from the ice epidemic, remember drugs are an equal opportunist and it doesn't discriminate. Lawyers and Doctors on ice have lost pratices, the rich just keep going until they have depleted their assets. Drugs is what is bringing the quality of life down no matter what drug it is. We need to be more aware of what is going on out there in society and we need to make sure we unit against drugs. Think about it!

Mike you sound like mutt. You probably don"t even know how to handle a weapon. Also you stupid would be on the front page crying and regreting what you did if it happened. Then everybody would be putting stupid comments about you like how you doing now.Learn how to fight or join MMA class so you can defend your self.

Chief,

Actually, I've got 20 years of firearms experience. Sure, I would feel bad if I shot someone. I would also be facing a mountain of legal challenges along the way. At least I would survive, though, and that's the whole point isn't it?

I've already tried the MMA and self-defense stuff, thank you. However, when you're only 150 pounds, it's tough to defend yourself from two 200-pound plus guys. I wounder how you would fare against odds like that? I don't have the time to train every day, lift weights and take supplements needed to be successfully against a big attacker, much less two. This is why I would rather use a firearm but the People's Republic of Hawaii won't let me. Sorry, I wasn't born athletic and in the 200 pound range. If you are, kudos to you.

Against people like yourself.I"am not sure what"s your race but you sound like your not from here.So carry a firearm wouldn"t be the right thing for these islands.Maybe you should consider moving to texas or arizona I'am sure you would love it.Carry all the firearms you want. You probably feel much better and safer about yourself.2 wrongs don"t make a right.

Chief,

It doesn't matter how much heart you have, you simply will not win a fight against someone bigger, stronger, faster or better than you. I'm not Hawaiian but since you are, I'm assuming you're a bigger person so it's easier for you to make these statements about fighting because you're probably good at it and have the size to give you an advantage.

But, what about people like me who were not born with size, strength or athleticism? We don't have a chance against someone even 50 pounds larger, much less against the two punks who terrorized the senior citizen.

I've lived here all my life and people are getting more bolder and brazen by the day. The Aloha spirit is dying, too. This why this the state needs offer concealed carry permits. However, this will never happen in Hawaii. So, for now, all I can do is hope I survive a confrontation enough to call 911 for help.

The two senior citizens in Mililani were lucky to have survived. Janel Tupuola, who was beaten to death in Kailua, was not so lucky.

True..Lingle's war against ice was a total failure. And yes, until we put careeer criminals in prison on the mainland for long sentences, we will continue to suffer. It is really very simple.
Alice, once you get tougher judges in this State, the ice users will only get the customary slap on the wrist...just like every criminal in this State. So, it's not Lingle's failure...it's the failure of our representatives and our judicial system, who blatantly do not support citizens and victims alike!

Let's wait and see if Keo Aiwohi is innocent or guilty. Hopefully it all turns out well, but I hope he learns a valuable lesson and gets of the pipe.
