The federal laws governing retaliatory conduct and the provision of a hostile-free workplace environment that the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Comission administers.
Xoxoxo! MuahhHh!
In order for this to be a violation of LAW, the actions of Hanohano must be
!. Offensive to an objective observer to the point it alters the working conditions of the individual. That does not seem the case here--he could simple tell his bosses "I'm not going to deal with Rep. Hanohano any longer, and if you make me, I'll sue. And win."

2. AND, the harassment or other bad behavior must result in some type of detrimental action against the worker, or have some otherwise serious impact on the worker's employment condition.

This doesn't mean he can't sue, which is what I would do. It's kind of an open and shut case.

Bottom line: Being stupid is not illegal, but it could cost you big anyway. And it should in Hanohano's instance.

Youre just defending her because she hates haoles....She might not be able to be impeached but she can be recalled....we just need to start a petition and collect the necessary amount of signature.

She cant be trusted to represent all of the people of Hawaii fairly....She should be recalled.

"Defending?" Shirley, you jest.
Go ahead and recall her. That would be great, too.

In a sense, they were the Nazis of Asia. But that was an age when the West treated non-white races like garbage or something just to be used. White racists often justify or condone colonialism by arguing "oh, but we also brought you many good things. We pulled you into the modern age."

Japan is the living refutation of that cunning lie. It was precisely because they retained their liberty that, by copying the West's technology and methods, they became the only deveoped nation of non-European heritage. Evil as Japan was in World War Two, they really gave the white man a taste of his own medicine against defenseless Africans, Asians or Native Americans.

Hawaiians love the Japanese. Many of then even have Japanese bosses and rent land from them. They've even given their sisters and mothers to the Japanese. The Hawaiians depend on them and will be forever thankful they cam without their bayonets, thanks to the US military. If the American Carriers were in port that Sunday, there wouldn't be any Hawaiians today, except in history books.

Not quite. Hawaiians despise the Kepani power base of the Democratic Party that has been a marginalizing, greed-driven fraternity for so long. Individually, Hawaiians get along with Japs as neighbors and friends, but as a group, AJAs are viewed as arrogant knaves who think their fut no stink.

Yours is the global conventional wisdom, and it does not necessarily apply directly in Hawaii. Arguably, the opposite is true: Haoles here feel exactly the kind of subtle, and not so subtle, racism other ethnicities have felt for centuries, and therefore believe Hawaii is MORE RACIST than any other place they have lived. It is actually the shoe on the other foot, no more, no less.
While some have defended Hanohano as just being real, one could similarly make the argument that the KKK is just being real, too.

Stop trying to downplay the rampant racism against haoles that exists here...we cant solve the problem by covering it up and pretending it doesn't exist..or is not as serious as you suggest. The first step to recovery is to admit there is a problem, not denying it or downplaying it.

Good one. A few bttch slapped crackers in Waimanalo and a couple muggings of tourists straying into Waianae is not "rampant racism."
Lynchings of brownies is more like rampant racism.
When is the last time a honky got dragged behind a truck by local boys?

Well, it doesn't have to be a full blown racist hate crime that makes the front page news. The Akaka bill can be considered 'rampant racism'...a race based bill created for a certain group of people it's not only racist but it also violates our own state Constitution.

If there is rampant racism, the problem is with you Haoles who feel affronted by ALL locals when ONE local calls you "Haole."

The Akaka Bill is not rampant racism either. Locking up 100,000 innocent Japs during WWII is. THAT was a "race based" law, and violated the US Constitution, yet took two acts of congress in the 80s and 90s and lasted until 1999 to be fully paid out.
