So.. let me get this straight.

this is the guy that wants people arrested for DUI, supports the efforts and wants to install breath sniffers to get cars started for people arrested for DUI........

except that... when he is arrested.. all of a sudden "The initial device police officers use in measuring the blood-alcohol content is not reliable"

so if that is true, then ALLLLLLL DUI cases should be thrown out and re investigated. lets start with that guy, Jared (sp?) who was driving after being the victim of punks intent on vandalism.

by the way... the breath sniffers that are to be installed into peoples cars. who has to pay for those and how much do they cost ?

If his eyesight was poor, he should not have been driving! He could have been an hazard to others on the road.

Let me guess if this guy had one of those ignition lock devices on his car I bet it wouldn't allow him to start it.

By his actions he has lost the public's trust and should resign.

If the field DUI test is so flawed he should have taken the one at the police station.

This guy is an idiot.

From all the dodging this guy is doing is his name Menor or "Manure"? Oh yes he is a politician so it must be the last one...

Menor has been in politics too long, he's beginning to believe in his own stupidity. His idiotic excuse of poor vision as the reason for his slow driving is a real winner. He's either guilty of DUI or driving with impaired vision. He probably should have also been charged with impaired mental faculties. Of course Bunda comes to his defense, why not, all these legislators are a pack of fools.

Throw the whole book at him. Drunk driving, driving while visually impaired, and incitement of road rage by driving too slow (must've been REAL slow if HPD pulls you over for that).

You little people don't understand. This is one party Hawaii. Menor is special. He's connected. He knows the law makers and the judges.

He doesn't have to follow the same rules like you pathetic peasants. So just do what you Hawaii people have done for 50 years. Keep electing and reelecting the same bozos from the same corrupt one party.

What ever happened to the Carpenter's union boss? Still not in jail 5 or 6 years later? Yep. He's special too.

If Menor think that this ignition locking system works, let me tell you, it does not. Anyone can blow into it, to get the car started. As long as they don't drink, even a little kid can do it. I have seeing it done here. Save the taxpayers money.

Think he is part of the 'network'? ha! He will walk......while dozens arrested the same weekend on Oahu and the Big Island will not.... thats what happens when you live in a kingdom.....someone has got to rule the savages while living with their own set of rules!

I bet the cop is scared for his job and career path, once Menor calls in his favors.

Hey...I REALLY like this tactic! I rarely drink and have never been pulled over for DUI, However, I do get very red if/whenever I have anything alcohol to drink . I WILL remember to drop my eyeglasses under the car seat (they fell and I had trouble reaching for them) and refuse to take the field sobriety or any addition tests if I ever have the misfortune of being stopped by the police. THANKS for the tips!

The lawyer will attack the Breathalyzer accuracy and the arresting officer's credibility. The best defense money can buy.

How ironic. The Senator who was promoting a Breathalyzer interlock for the cars of convicted drunk drivers, now claims that the devices are not accurate.

All this after the amazing story of hurt foot and slipping contact lens.

the breath device the legislature wants to put in the drunks cars ---

wonder if that one more broke then the one cops used on Menor

Come on Ron, play by the rules that everyone else does. First of all, you are a lawyer and are aware of the laws concerning DUI. If you have a problem with your contacts, get it fixed IMMEDIATELY and don't drive until it is resolved. Your fractured left foot is okay, I have seen you walking and you look fine to me. You and the general public are very lucky that no one was killed or seriously hurt due to you being intoxicated. And last but not least, practice what you preach, if you drink, DON'T DRIVE. Catch a cab. You need to be a better example to your family and your constituents.
